Ole Miss pass rusher Princely Umanmielen met with reporters for the first time since transferring from Florida as one of the portal's top-rated players. Looking for a new opportunity at another program, the unanimous All-SEC defender says he's being coached differently than he was in Gainesville under Billy Napier.

quote:

"I feel like I was one of the best in the country as far as pass rushing. Something from last season that I could work on better (are) my drops and attacking the run game a little bit. I feel like here I'm getting coached harder for things like that," Umanmielen said, via Inside The Rebels. "I feel like at Florida the way I was coached was kind of almost as if they were just telling me to go out there and 'use my talent', if that makes sense. Here, Coach Lou (Spanos) and Coach Joyner (are) really on me about the little things. Coach Lou really goes through the progressions and drops and the routes that are being run when I have to go in coverage.

quote:

"When I was at Florida, they would just tell me 'go drop to this area' and I'd have to figure everything else out on my own. But here they go into depth. I feel like I'm actually getting developed here."

Look at the OP, it posts breaking news all the time.

I'm curious how much cheeto dust it has in the cracks of its keyboard

That might be the reason why Napier changed his D-line coach. You might also consider that Florida didn't outbid Ole Miss for his services with NIL. We will see how much he has learned November 23rd in the Swamp.

I remember when players used to be thankful just to receive a scholarship. It must have been all of three or four years ago. Ancient history.

Well, you shouldn't have to worry now that Pete Golding is your new DC. Finding the area you need to drop in might be the bigger issue going forward.

He was a Texas commit. Flipped to the GATORS because he wanted a better HC than Sark.

Nothing made up about opponents going up and down the field with impunity for 4 quarters. The ILBers were poorly coached and out of position. The defense chased endlessly, gave up huge plays in long down and distance, and often failed to get lined up before the HUNH teams snapped the ball. They struggled to tackle and Golding struggled to get communications on the field. Other than that, we were good with all those 5 stars.

floridas dc is such a moron that Napier hired the guy behind 4th and 31 to be his babysitter!

Golding would be a major improvement over the clown show in Gainesville

I had to look this up as it wasn't a game i was concerned about when the schedule came out. Florida has fallen so far.

The obsession bama fans have over Golding is entertaining as hell.

Kind of reminds me of 2015, we were coming off of a bad season, had fired our coach and were going up against #3 Ole Miss.

It’s actually a really great way to figure out who knows football and who is just a fan.

Go back and look at the 4Q/OT film from Bama@LSU in 2022.

Golding had Will Anderson, Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell to work with.

Instead of playing meet at the QB like the 2H of the 2023 game where Daniels was knocked out, he pulled our actual DL/DT guys and had 250lb edge guys playing heads up on IOL guys who were 320lbs.

The NFL starter level rushers got mauled inside as expected, Daniels had lanes to run and the defense was shredded leading to the famous conversion that wins the game for LSU.

Golding is a glorified Madden player mad scientist type who wasted a bunch of NFL talent and kept us out of the playoffs as a result.

His efficiency defense rankings were the worst of the Saban era and Bama fans were right to want him gone.

Good for Ole Miss I guess.

Glad to see Tiger fans giving the Rebs support.
