Damn, that's a sad story. If only he would have managed his money better when he had it. Sucks for him.

How is stealing money and lying a sad story? Dude this guy took advantage of the system, and now he should suffer the consequences.

It's sad because he obviously felt compelled to break the law after having what many would consider a successful professional football career. Do you get joy out of seeing others suffer or something? He brought it on himself but it's still tragic, just like micheal Vick, Cecil Collins, or even O.J. SAD.

It is a sad story, yet he is reaping what he sowed. Hate this these former college players with so much potential end up like this. Jamarcus Russell comes to mind and if Rolando McClain isnt careful he could end up here too.

@Ted2010

You attend UA right? Bama fans normally allow other schools to dig up and post the bad stuff. It makes them feel better about themselves.

I can promise you he ain't the only one that's doing it. It's sad story but maybe he should have put to use some of what he learned in college!

There is a segment of the population that grew up with the Government paying for most of their things, especially food, and they don't see why they should use their own money for something that should be "free". I'm not saying this is the case with him, but it happens everywhere. I know some people who do it.

Police said the victim told them that McClain, now a linebacker with the NFL's Oakland Raiders, put a pistol to his head while he was lying on the ground, and fired a shot next to his ear after he begged McClain not to shoot him.

You really think Jamarcus Russell drinking purple drank is worse that that?

I think he was just talking about wasted potential, not crimes. Nobody can say Jamarcus isn't the biggest waste of talent in the past 5-10 years.

Love it, how do we go from a sad story regarding the former Alabama LB to bashing a former LSU player? Only in America

Yep. Saw a lot of food stamp selling/trading at an old job I had years ago. And most of it was people you'd never suspect. It used to be very prevalent, but I'm guessing may be a bit tougher now with the EBT cards.

So when is Reggie Bush going to be punished? To me he was a thief.

This is old

A couple of days ago there was a story on Al.com bout this and it didn't mention he played for Bama an the comments were basically saying burn him at the stake

Then when they edited and added that he was a former Bama player they changed to defending him

Yes I read the comments on an Al.com article ONE time but that's bc someone had pointed it out

Like all gov't programs, welfare is bound to abused.

As for Saleem Rasheed, I'm shocked. I always took him to be an upstanding being (his bro went to Duke). I don't think he grew up in a welfare-dependent familly.

Guy was a stud in college. Will be a shame if this is how his life turns out.
