Goes back to one of the oldest rules for college coaches: Never trust a soulless ginger at QB.

Auburn's SEC Country writer Lauren Shute

How does Lauren Shute know if Auburn provided counseling and resources to help SW or not?

Does she know if CGM provided assistance in the form of guidance and whether he assisted in seeking professional help from the myriad of AU resources on campus available to help this kid?

Just people spouting off about shite they know nothing about.

SW's off the field issues have been a thorn in CGM's side for well over a year. To accuse Auburn (football staff) of carelessly throwing him side and not making every attempt and resource available to the guy is idiotic.

I guess this is how Auburn takes care of "family".

Gus crushed the kid's confidence by pretty much assuring everybody Stidham was the guy he wanted. What do you Aubie's expect? The guy pretty much spilled his guts on the field for AU the last couple of years when the anointed one JJ couldn't get it done. I realize he had some shoulder issues, but was it even a competition between the two.

Like a Nigerian buy back, I bet your coaches are already working on recruiting him back on the squad.

I've heard he popped that drug test for cocaine from some of my Auburn friends. No idea if that's true, but if true I can understand the boot after the PI. Sounds like he's trying to channel his inner Johnny Football.

Why are your friends giving drugs to our players?

$10.00 says if he was the only hope GusBus had at QB he would be in team meetings at this hr planing for Saturday.

So he'd do what any coach in the same situation would do?

Yeah, I'd take that bet on just about every head coach in the country.

Sorry but we don't have room for every Georgia thug. Onyl have 85 scholarships

Didn't Kirby keep a guy who got two DUI's last year? Following that shorty saban discipline model

Oh yeah, the Fulmer Cup is the only championship Georgia has won in the last decade

Sean was a good kid and his off the field problems are probably being overblown. He wasn't the right QB for Gus though.

With his accuracy, wonder how he would've done at an Air Raid program like Texas Tech or Washington State...

I think Sean could tear it up at a slightly lower level. He may yet, actually.

I don't really see a JFF spiral in his future.

It is comical that you bammers try to troll these incidents. Your midget coach wouldn't suspend a player on death row, so shut the frick up

Haha it must have been some left over from tax season. I've been trying to tell them to tone it down to adderall but they say it just doesn't do the job.

Yeah, his issues weren't just weed related. Mix coke with booze and a few pills and it can be hard to handle - do that shite for over a year and kids get into a cycle they can't get out off without time away from college/football and a stint in rehab.

I'm hoping he gets his shite straight, I don't wish a "Johnny fricking Football" outcome on any kid.

Did GusBus run a 5th year senior QB soon after he got to auburn? Maybe as OC for Chiz.
Ran him to make room for a golden arm. If I remember correctly it didn't work out the way he wanted.

If this didn't happen I'm sorry to besmirch the family unnecessarily

That is the offense he is best suited for.

Next year, he will be a grad transfer somewhere. I bet he will do really well in the right system. IT seems unfair to comment on his "issues" but if any those rumors are true, I hope he gets some type of help. Too many young people damage their future by poor choices.

Really, how many teams would release their second string QB, especially when the other two QBs are first year players at your school and are a true Freshman and a sophomore who was out of football for almost two years? Especially when you are on the hot seat. So I will take the bet..

WTF are you talking about? 2009 he had a QB battle between Chris Todd and Kodi Burns. Todd won, Burns switched to WR and the next year Cam Newton came in and won the national title (Todd graduated in 09).

In the past, Gus has been too lenient with kids from Mike Dyer to Duke Williams but has in recent seasons made it clear that he won't tolerate guys continually screwing up and possibly distracting the team. It sucks for White because dude is a competitor but he did this to himself. I hope he gets the help he needs and lights it up at some other school next season but I don't blame Gus one bit
