Hell yeah. One of the most underrated players during the Saban years.

What situation are you talking about where cops were attacked?

All of the police inflicted deaths over the last 5 years or so were due to police protecting themselves from criminals attempting to do them harm? That just isn't true.

Majority? Maybe.

Name one. Mike Brown robbed a store and bullrushed the cop that killed him.

Don't understand why people get so mad at the guy for protesting the way he does when you hear his motives, but hey it is what it is.

Because his message has merit, but he has completely overshadowed it by this particular protest.

He has got attention, but the narrative has become Kap vs the flag, and I think the protest now hurts his message more than helps it.

the vast majority of them were justified. in a country of 300 million people, sure there will be isolated incidents of bad people doing bad things. but the notion that this is some systematic problem is ridiculous. and i don't know what legislation they want enacted that will somehow eliminate all racism.

James Burns of the Atlanta PD for one. And that's just a recent one in the local news.

AJC Investigation : Unarmed and shot in the back

What does that mean? Does it mean there is a giant systematic issue of police hunting African-Americans? I don't think so.

But people do a disservice to their overall message when they wave off legitimate cases like this because it might add a little ammo to a cause they believe is bogus. You can both accept that some bad things have happened (and show sympathy), while still disagreeing that there is some sort of systematic issue going on. The same way that the other side loses credibility when reports come out clearly stating the Hands Up Don't Shoot narrative is hocus pocus, but continue to peddle it as fact.

JMHO.

How are minorities "oppressed" in this country? Kap and thousands of minorities in the US make millions a year. How are minorities "oppressed"?.. we have a black president. How are minorities oppressed? (they're not) please tell me more about his motives.. This country gives every individual an opportunity to be successful. Would you like an example... how bout Colin Kaepernick. That's why he's an ungrateful dumbass.

You link an opinion article that doesn't present all the evidence? That's not how our legal system works.

I can understand what you are saying and its reasonable to an extent, but he is protesting and theres not really a clear cut way for one to protest something. We can say that he has gone about this the wrong way but he has definitely drawn attention to himself and his cause.

You can argue about whether it is oppression or circumstance (or the origins of it), but many minorities are born into situations that are much, much, much more difficult to break out of into success than non-minorities. That's just fact. And it's incredibly sad to me as someone who got 17 chances to screw up and still have success. A lot of those kids get 1 chance, and that's it. With no support system.

But that's the great question of our time - how to change that. And it's insanely difficult to answer. I wish I knew.

I didn't say he should be put on death row tomorrow. He should and will get a fair trial (which is a miracle in and of itself). But I have a brain and I'm compelled by the evidence I've read about over the past 12 months.

You really think millions of other minorities have the same type of status and cache as Kap and other professional athletes, wth are you smoking?

I wonder how Black Twitter will react to this.

Seriously, I've never seen a more sharp and tangible divide racially than this anthem debate. And its kinda hard for me to take stance on either side. (I'm black by the way).

If I don't stand for the Anthem and the pledge I'm considered to be anti-American.

If I do stand for the Anthem then I'm considered to be anti black.

It's just stupidity on all sides.

Exactly. There is zero evidence that police are hunting down black people and killing them. Only shite you read by some reporter making 22k a year. May be Kap should protest the 70% of black families that lack a father in the home.

I don't agree with Kapernick in the slightest but you are so ignorant.
