You say that now but wait until LSU is a one or two loss SEC champion, fighting for that 4th playoff spot. Then, they will start pounding that SEC chest and say,"our conference champ usually wins the championship" as an argument. As long as the SEC champ is winning the playoffs, the better chance your team will get in if and when they win the SEC
Upside: yes, Alabama winning would increase the chances of an SEC team keeping a reserved seat in the playoffs.
Downside: another Alabama win is just another recruiting advantage for the Tide. When you had multiple SEC teams winning it, ALL the SEC power teams had a draw: come here, and you will have an increased chance of playing for a title. It helped LSU, Fla, Bama, Auburn, etc. Even Georgia, and I would expect it aided Spurrier at South Carolina a lot. That's because the SEC wasn't just winning national titles, it was an open competition to win the conference.
But the past couple years, that has been lost. Only team that can sell a recruit that spiel is Bama.
The short answer- if Bama keeps winning, you WON'T HAVE an SEC team on the bubble, because that SEC team will continue to just be Alabama.
edit to add:
here's an objective LSU angle regarding recruits.
Let's say Clemson wins, and moves the ball while doing so. LSU can tell recruits on the fence- hey, we shut Louisville and the Heisman Trophy winner down, we stopped Johnny Football, etc. We can stop that offense, and if you come HERE, you can put us over the top in conference play, and we'll get the chance to do so.
If Bama wins, that argument is out, and the lure is "come to Alabama and keep winning titles".

Unlikely for LSU or anybody else to be any kind of SEC champion as long as Alabama keeps winning titles.
