Disagree. No matter what happens it'd be a hell of an experience either way. Especially if I end up on a huge road trip out there with my friends the month after I graduate.

the road trip would be fun and the stuff before the game. im just saying to me it would feel kinda empty or something if we win and its taken away. Of course nothing can take away the awesomness that road trips bring.
ive changed my mind after the point of the road trip and i would go.

Don't be foolish. 2k or 3k is way too much to spend for a weekend in phoenix. I could see if it was the rosebowl you could make a vacation out of it. If you are not going to spend a few days in vegas then go down to Phoenix for the game don't bother.
You can spend 200 bucks on liquor and food and have a party with friends and celebrate it will still feel good. If you lose you will feel horrible having spent 3k also compared to a couple hundred.

I'd be the dude with tears in my eyes and head in my hands if we lose at the end.

I'd be the a-hole pointing the camera on you

i dont blame you i would be as well. i wouldn't take going all the way out there and losing well. then id go drown my sorrows in a bottle of makers

I'd rather go for the experience than the actual game. Road trip, drinks, friends, living in a car for a few days, championship game. Winning would make it infinitely better, yes, but I'm not going to be absolutely crushed if we lose.

The 03 NCG was the best game I ever went to.
But then again, we were 99.9999999999% sure the title WOULDN'T be forfeited in less than a year.
I'd get a new flat screen instead.

Yeah...even if the win is taken away later (not flaming), they can't take the game away...

I'm not worried about the title being vacated, that doesn't play into the decision.

6.Tostitos Fiesta Bowl : Oklahoma Sooners vs. Connecticut Huskies: $213
I don't know about this one. Forbes is going by the asking price for fansnap.com, not the actual market value of the tickets. I have 6 to this game and tickets in my section are averaging about $50 per. I think face value is $175 each (or something close to that).

Just because you're a good poster.
I debated about attending the '03 championship game, and it was in New Orleans. The tickets were going for about $800 a piece, and my wife and I were planning on going.
I had a patient come in about 2 weeks prior to the game and say, "for that kind of money, I could buy a nice TV, watch it at home, and when the games over, I still have the TV for years to come."
This made sense to me, so I let the tickets go. I got a call from a friend on Dec. 30 at the office to ask if I had found a ticket. I said no and he offered me one. I asked how much and he said $150, face value.
Needless to say, I went. The experience was priceless. Unbelievable atmosphere. Cried like a baby when the clock struck zero. I drove home after the game, couldn't sleep, and sat down at the computer to write a heartfelt thank you to the man that afforded me that opportunity.
I have since attended another championship game and purchased a nice TV/stereo surround system.
I can't tell you exactly when I purchased that system, but I can tell you any number of details about that trip and experience.
Don't live with the regret. No matter what happens down the line on paper, on the field, you will have experienced the first championship of your team. And no doubt about it, Auburn will have earned it on the field, and IMO, they will.

Personally, I am really torn. My Bama grad wife is supportive of us going even though we didn't go to LA last year. She doesn't seem to put out by it and we had a good time at a viewing party. Just can't make up my damn mind...
I say go for it. Don't be like those barner fans back in '57 that said, "Hey, I'll just wait for the next one".

Nice post. I went last year with my brother (who I don't see but about every other year) and it was well worth it.
Those memories will last for decades.

Cotton is always up towards the top
When I was a kid the Cotton was one of the Big 4 bowls - Rose, Orange, Sugar and Cotton. All of the others were lesser bowls. Anyway, I hope that in the next round that instead of the plus 1 in the city as the Tostitoes Bowl on Jan 1 then the National Championship game the following week that the Cotton comes back into the fold and they are BCS 5 Bowls.

I don't think we went to a bowl game in 1957
