Why do you think we're paranoid? You think it might have something to do with decades of putting up with garbage like the ref, J Taylor, who bailed out the Horns in last season's T-Day game with a BS call at the game's most critical juncture, who was outed as a UT poster on TexAgs.com who came on there to talk ish to Aggies? Even the freakin REFS in the Big XII are internet fanboys of UT - and face no consequences when outed! Wrap your head around that.

My argument was about the idea that Dodds/sip media conspiracy would somehow keep holding A&M down is wrong, esp in regards to the NC game. Dodds/sips have really no power over A&M anymore though at one point they certainly did and they still have a lot of control over the Big 12.

The most clear thing in this thread is your OBSESSION with A&M.

Did they have control over A&M 5 years ago? It may have been slowly diminishing, but you agreed that they have control over media, which has control over polls.

I'm not sure a team who had losing seasons as recent as 2008 is making anyone's bones shake. As far as I can see Texas and Texas A&M are going to be in the same level bowl game, maybe even the same game despite how far ahead you think you are. Even in turmoil Texas equals your best season in years considering their postseason opportunities. Wrap your head around that.

They still have their recruiting base, and that is evident with their recruiting results every year.

Doesn't necessarily translate into success. FYI here are Big 12 champions:

Oklahoma: 7
Texas: 3
Nebraska: 2
Texas A&M 1
Colorado: 1
Kansas State: 1

OU has 7 while texass has 3

texass is much closer to the pack than it is to OU in terms of Big 12 domination. Thanks for proclaiming loudly that texass is the "clear number 2" in the Big 12.

Purely from a financial perspective in terms of money spent on a "per win" basis... The absolute worst return on investment in all of college football is $ spent per win at texass.

No other program in the nation spends as much for relatively small returns. Typical count shorthorn to come on and totally forgot that OU has absolutely owned them. texass is not even the best school in the freaking conference.

Stop worrying about A&M and go worry about the those 40 point beatdowns you keep getting on national TV.

As always... can't spell Uterus without the U and T.

I don't think even the biggest homer would say A&M and Sip are having equal seasons. But, that's fine. The longhorn insider was just talking out of his arse. Whistling past the graveyard always gets things turned around.

By the way, are they still saying that A&M didn't have an SEC offer?

What about a team that had a losing season as recent as 2010, the year AFTER winning 13 games?

Longhorn Boosters are turning on Dodds and Mack.

quote:

Regardless of the cries of the everyday Longhorns fan, most assumed Mack Brown wouldn't be forced out at Texas because the football coach had AD DeLoss Dodds and, perhaps more importantly, the school's prominent boosters behind him. But Inside Texas has an extensive Q&A with a UT insider who says that may no longer be the case. Here's a snippet from Inside Texas' report: "There have been phone calls to Deloss about the dissatisfaction after the loss. There are phone calls and emails sent to Deloss after every loss, there are just more of them now. The difference is that some of these conversations are not just focused on Mack, but there are some [boosters] that have challenged Deloss and Bellmont as a whole. It’s a different feeling than when it was simply seen as a Mack Brown problem. These guys are questioning whether or not Deloss Dodds needs to be around. Make no mistake, the big money guys are now convinced that the culture in Bellmont is rotting and they want to fix it." The report mentions a faction of Texas boosters who have long been rallying against Brown, yet didn't wield the most power within the program. But even some of the most prominent boosters who were staunchly in Brown's corner over the past two years could be growing more restless, according to Inside Texas: "If some of these guys have their way then neither Mack or Dodds will be around much longer. But again, these are the vocal group. Mack and Deloss need to be concerned with the group that used to be in their corner come hell or high water. Mack has mentioned one or two of these folks by name in press conferences this year when he was talking about support. Those names aren’t in his corner any more." The insider told Inside Texas that if the Horns lose to Kansas State, he doubted that Brown would want to "come back in the face of all the negativity." "He feeds off of pats on the back. He’s not getting that anymore. In fact, I haven’t seen this much negative sentiment since Mackovic was about to be fired."

Wait. Texas is having an EQUAL season with A&M. Bowl worthy. 8-4 at worst. Why the outcry? Has any program ever fired a coach that was 8-4 without some off-the-field misconduct as justification?

Those fricks are obsessed with A&M. They are now comparing bowl games as a measuring stick to show they are A&M's equal this year.

I feel sorry for the bowl that gets stuck with them. I did read in the AAS that Texas has a "solid" shot at either the Cotton Bowl or the Alamo Bowl.

Nice to have a "solid" shot at the Alamo Bowl.

Good grief...

...and in a longhorn-centric fashion...under orders from Dodds....the DMN pulls the article.

I have just proved EVERY GOT DAMN THING I WAS SAYING IN THIS THREAD.

1. Sips are scared of A&M's success
2. They will make moves to counter A&M's success
3. The moves they make are limited because they have less control over A&M now that we are SEC.
4. The fricking longhorn-centric media will NEVER let A&M into the MNC game.

Can you feel THAT, HUH, HUH, HUH, HUH????

I have EXORCISED THE DEMON. This thread is cleaaahh!!!!

To the OP: Oh, hell no, for all the reasons already mentioned. And for completely selfish reasons being a transplant to Mississippi, I can go to games now. Win/Win.

National Media is interested.

This one got my attention. ESPN was in the tank for Manziel yesterday, which was fun but not totally unexpected after the press conference. But today... Forbes? What? What's next? The cover of Time? Fun year.

Would we get his kind of exposure in the Big Twatever, where we would be viewed nationally (as planned by the Sips) as Texas Lite?

Who's Texas Lite now?
