Ive seen some insensitive posts here in the past but the level of butthurt today is obscene. There will be people losing their lives on the coast, and although the state of Fl. is trying to evacuate to save lives, some people are more worried about a football game. I would think that of all the SEC fans, LSU would get it.
This.

This isn't about football b rod. Did you not listen to Foley? We should be concerned about all of the vulnerable lives in Florida...excluding the Florida football team that can safely remain in Florida.

I was shocked that UF actually did want to play the game, just at a safer time.....but LSU didn't want that.

SEC has already offered to pay the buy out.
I have seen this said, yet not supported.

And recoup their lost revenue for a home game weekend? Cause LSU was giving Florida the gate and the concessions this weekend if they played in BR.

Nah. Florida can go frick themselves. It just makes their inevitable losses hurt them more.

You don't really believe that
They chose 11/19 because they knew LSU would say no

LSU fans just have a selfish agenda for wanting the game in Baton Sewage.
Nobody cares if the game is played here or if it isnt... Shreveport, Mobile, Atlanta, any number of SEC stadiums... we dont care where... this stupid narrative that we only wanted to play at home is blatantly false
They never wanted to play this game and took their football and went home like little kids...
How in the frick can you adamantly state you never considered moving the venue, to anywhere, to play the game when the entire world knew, for a week, what was coming from the south??
Florida is banged up and would have ran into a buzzsaw in the form of LSU and they bitched out

That is actually the only date the neither team is playing an SEC opponent. That just makes too much sense though.

I think UF should be preparing for the salt, actually. Because it's a hurricane. From the ocean.

I don't see either team playing an SEC opponent on Sunday or Monday.. but UF isn't having it

Doesn't LSU have a home game that weekend? So they have to pay off S Alabama and lose home game revenue to satisfy Florida?
Apparently you missed the 20 other threads where the conference insurance policy was referenced.

So you think that 48 hours after a Cat 4 or 5 storm rolls through, travel/power will be available to play a football game? Gainesville will not be the only place that this storm has an impact on. I would think emergency personnel will be more tied up along the East coast.

Covers the buyout and a fraction of home game revenue. Not even close.

So is Florida going to give LSU 2-3 million dollars for lost revenue for a home game, plus refunding all tickets sold for said game. Florida showed the chicken shits they are and are using the fact they have an easy rest of the way and banking on ut losing the next 2 weeks so they can try and steal the east by playing one less game against one of their tougher opponents.

. UF most likely didn't want their players to have to worry about family and friends back home and have to play a football game
Well, that would create all kind of new issues.

Agreed, from a neutral perspective I can tell you right now it's LSU, not UF, that's looking bad regarding this whole situation.

UF players, coaches, and staff would have been safer in BR. They were offered all the accommodations in the world. Hell, I'm sure LSU would have put them up for free at the Cook (our pretty awesome hotel) for an extended time if they couldn't fly right back.
