Florida decided to pay them off so they didn't have to play the game before the cocktail party.

Uh, Idaho didn't want to play that day either.

fricking ridiculous. Florida should be banned from any potential playoff spot on principle.

If it calms you down any, just assume it was a loss to Idaho.

If Idaho had to play to get paid, they would have played. Everyone knows that.

Idaho gets paid anyway per contract rules. They didn't want to play the bye week per Idaho beat writers.

They'll really shite themselves when UF is ahead of another team with more wins in the bowl selection. Sounds like part of the decision not to make up this game was the assurance from the conference that it would not impact bowl selection.

True. But look at it this way. If y'all come back big time (As I and many on here think you will) and you lose, say only 1 game, it will be VERY difficult for you to go to the Playoff. If you DON'T come back big, then you might need that easy win to be bowl eligible.

If we only lose one game do you really think the committee GAF about Idaho? C'mon man.

Fair enough. But if this were a game against Auburn would you still just brush it aside? We play San Jose State next week and anyone on our roster could get hurt...but at least we took the risk and actually played the game. You guys just got a freebie and you know it.

Take it up with the NCA. Are they they set up in offices at Auburn still?

It just goes to show you what an epic waste of time these tomato can games are, nobody even cares if they're played.

I think they should have played the week before the GA game. They have no chance in that game anyway.

Georgia is the hardest game we have outside of FSU but I think it's probably at worst a 40% chance to win.

I was just coming here to post this. No way the NFL would just blow off a game and neither would an SEC game, or more than likely the Florida FSU game would not either.

Games like this should be eliminated.

This brings an interesting question. I agree with you by the way.

Let's say that for some reason, we now lose another non-conference game and no bye weeks are available. What would happen then?

FSU would be much easier to reschedule so let's leave them out.

I would like to know which team would be ok with playing 9 straight games without a bye week, just so they can play Idaho.

Imagine the chaos when this lightning rule cancels a game like Ga-FL or AU-AL. And fricks up who goes to the SEC championship game and playoffs.

Idaho didn't want to do it because that would mean they would have played 10 straight. I think that's what I read.

There's no benefit to either team.

How the hell has this never happened before? Or has it and I don't remember?

Well, we would have to play 8 weeks in a row (if we were to give up the bye), possibly nine. That is just not doable.
