Why is it flawed logic? If 2008 Alabama almost beat 2008 Florida, why couldn't a more veteran team in 2009 do the same.
Dude... you almost lost to a 7-6 Tennessee team, at home, in 2009. A team that got it's teeth kicked in by fricking Ole Miss and needed OT to beat Kentucky.

Or more talented teams in 2011 and 2012?
You lost games both years here. Florida lost one game, and only struggled against one team, Alabama (in which they still won by double digits - and were never down by more than 3 pts). Besides that, they beat the frick out of every team they played.

I was too. Definitely losing Stinson, CJ, Belue, Fulton (may or may not start) with Pagan, Hubbard, HaHa, and Trey being possibilities. We'll likely be replacing a good bit on D in '14.

Stinson isn't likely to start much by the end of the season, if spring ball is any indication. Pagan is probably leaving early. Belue is a senior. Fulton isn't likely to start. Trey has lost playing time. Even if he bounces back, I can't see him leaving early. Hubbard is probably gone. HaHa might.

it's getting to the point where if they give bama a cake schedule yet AGAIN, the outcry will be exponentially bigger. They really have no choice if they want to save face.

Vast Birmingham conspiracy.

Matters not. Truth is, until proven otherwise, Florida is Alabama's plaything. Should be a fun game though now that they're in the rotation again. Can't wait. Alabama's 2014 schedule is gonna be hard as balls TMK.

LSU has probably the best class I've seen in my 25 years.

But that UF/UA game will be one for the ages.

What I'm wondering from UF fans is if they think Coach Pease will have the O worked through this season and ready for 2014.

Because Alabama had 2 or more close games in 2011

I think things have changed just a little bit since 1992, troll. Just a couple of national championships from that permanent cross division team.

Shouldn't it be Georgia? We just had a home and home with Florida in 10 and 11

When do the puppies get to play LSU and Bama in the same season?

Disagree on Stinson. Hard to tell with Fulton since he missed spring, but I could see him being 3rd corner.

Are you arguing just to do so?

And 2008 UF lost to Ole Miss. And Alabama beat the Hell out of just about everyone they faced in 2011 and 2012, save for the two losses. But that's not really the point of all of this. It was about the two SEC title games Alabama and UF had and whether or not the '08 game indicated that '09,'11, and '12 teams could have beaten '08 UF.

Hopefully LSU and UF have made some leaps with their offense. I sure don't want to see Bama get another title in 2014.

You lost to LSU. You were only up by FOUR POINTS against a 7-6 (3-5) UF going into the 4th quarter.

And you need to look at the entire schedule and not one game as an indicator for a made up match.

You were losing to an 8 win Auburn team going into the 4th quarter in 2009. Why you think this shouldn't be considered in a mytholical game makes zero sense to me. Instead, you use one game from the '08 UF team as their measuring stick. If we compared the '09 Alabama vs Auburn team against the '08 UF vs UGA team, it isn't even close.

It was actually fourteen points.

Excuses are void but the hypothetical points to this. Alabama makes all those field goals and LSU gets beat by a touchdown and a half. LSU also played arguably the hardest schedule in the history of CFB. They were a nasty arse team for sure

You're right. I don't know how to math today.

Still, 'bama was tied with Tennessee at the half (a team that didn't even make a bowl and got curb stomped by Arkansas that year). Only up by 10 going into the 4th against MSU. And only up by 10 against a shite-tastic Auburn team midway thru the 3rd quarter. A team that LSU and UGA destroyed by the half in the same year.

Was Cam or Brantley the back-up QB in '08?

Brantley. Cam took a medical redshirt after hurting his ankle early in the season (followed by the laptop thing in November).
