Ask PanhandleSlim why he chose that date

Auburn is 44-39-2 against Florida
We’ve won 3 of the last 4 and 4 of the last 6 meetings.

Auburn gets back first, just because buzz cut billy is in over his head.

Auburn will benefit from the new scheduling format more than any other program in the SEC.
The spectrum of SOS difficulty ranging from Auburn (hardest) to Kentucky (easiest) is incredibly lopsided. The new scheduling format will even things out, and therefor AU will see the most relative benefit while UK, Vandy, Georgia, Mizzou are going to see sharp increases in difficulty.
The Alabama/Georgia factor won’t have the same impact at that point. Auburn might still have to play both every season, but everyone else will play them more often
This is a good point on the competition side. My point was mostly about recruiting and Auburn being sandwiched between Alabama and Georgia in their recruiting radius. Freeze having NIL collectives at his disposal will be the big difference maker on the talent acquisition side. He's got to make up a talent deficit quick.

Yes you are, but you knew that already

Florida’s recent recruiting class had the highest average rating per recruit in the program in over 10 years. I believe their clip was around 93%. They snagged 4 elite defensive line prospects. They have a 5 star QB in the 2024 class. Yeah Napier hasn’t had the on-field success yet but the talent is coming.

I'm aware you didn't but I still don't know why then and not like 1982 or something more recent

By hiring Pastor Prossy, Auburn has proven they want to win at all costs including reputation.

I'm going both simultaneously

Good comeback. Tard.

you continue to exemplify the point made in my original post

Just the Florida fans I know do. If you love the guy, feel free to explain why. That's what this thread is all about.
Those people are foolish then. Not saying Napier will be the guy to get them back to championship level but it's only year 1. Him winning 6 games last year with Mullen's shite pile of a roster was an act of God.

That's nice. Doesn't change the fact that we've won over twice as many major bowls.

Bowls are meaningless in the BCS/Playoff era

I think Auburn gets back first. Freeze is no Messiah but seems to be off to a good start

1948 seems ... not very useful in any semi modern context.
Maybe not to you but it fundamentally changed the game as we know it. Felt today more than ever. The GI Bill did more to change football than anything else. Take that away means you take away the fuel that has fed college sports (and football the most) the growth it is now reaping the money from today.
GI Bill allowed the masses to attend college and grow their alumni base substantially and provided the bodies and the cash to create the rise of state schools over the private schools that dominated the landscape prior to WW II. Before the war college was for the very few and after the war the GI Bill allowed families that could never enter college before to do so.
University of Chicago (private) gave way to Ohio State
Tulane (private) gave way to LSU
Centre (private) gave way to Kentucky
No GI Bill and the Ivy League would still dominate CFB
It is why history (tho unimportant to you perhaps) still affects the game today.
