How are the callers so damn bad? Isn't it very difficult to get thru to Finebaum? Do they not screen these people's questions first to at least see if they can put a coherent sentence together on live radio/tv?

ETA: Bobby from Birmingham just told LSU fans to wish in one hand, shite in the other and see which one fills up first! Now that is a decent caller

You do realize these are the only kind of people who listen to that shitshow.

The ratings for his show are extremely high and have been for 20 years.

It was a good show back when it was just a local show here in Birmingham. It lost a lot when it went national. The callers were still idiots, but at least most of them were entertaining, in a laugh at their idiocy way.

His interviews and guest spots can still be good.

Who doesn't love a daily dose of Pall, Paul, and Pawl?

Only recently started listening. Agreed I like Finebaum when he interviews CFB personalities. Thought Vince Dooley was good

It just proves all you have to do it's get on the radio and tell Bama fans Bama is the GOAT, even in the down years, and you will get your share of that money handed out for Bama football.

He could sit on air making noises and just end with Bama is great and the Bama fans would tune in for the whole show just to hear the end.

When they first added Finebaum to the radio here I honestly thought to myself "Why the frick are they airing an Alabama/Auburn radio show here" because the first dozen times I heard it he mainly talked about Alabama.

And it seemed like the callers were all Bama or Auburn fans bitching at each other.

It's hard to watch. Would be nice if he had some days where people actually called to talk about football and not act like a moron.

This is incorrect. Paul was hard on the Bama coaches before Saban. He called for Shula's firing long before anybody else.He hated Dubose and Fran as well. The callers were mostly Bama fans because there are more Bama fans than Auburn fans(about 3 to 4 times as many). When Auburn was better, he constantly reminded Bama fans about it. He constantly stirred the pot to get the more vocal fans to call in. Then he started paying the most outrageous ones to call in everyday.(Legend, Tammy, Charles from Reel town, I Man etc...)
He does get good guest and does a good interveiw, but the hook of his show is the passionate fans that call in.Paul did not go pro Bama until Saban got hired. Then he rode Saban's coattails to cable radio and now ESPN. Oh and Bama is GOAT, but that is besides the point.

His love affair with Saban tainted his shtick. He used his bammer friends to get closer to Slive, who in turn got him the SECN slot. He is a TN Grad but knows who butters his bread. He was much better when he wasn't the character on the show, his callers were.

It's a sports version of the Jerry Springer Show.

Folks that actually wants to talk football Stinkbaum will cut off in mid sentence but he'll let the Bama rednecks carry on for 10 minutes...And it's odd that a lot people can't get in on the phone lines but Stinkbaums 7-8 chosen ones get in every day.
