If you are Arky why hire a coach who has done nothing but get worse when you can go hire a youngish succesful G5 coach?

Amen. It makes zero sense.

Gus will win 8 or 9 games a year and every 5 years or so he will win 11 or more. Most programs would be ecstatic with those results. At Auburn, that will only get you an extension if those wins include being at least 50/50 against the biggest rivlas, bama and Georgia.

At Arkansas, your cross division game is against Mizzou, which is a hell of a lot easier than having Georgia every year as the cross division game.

I know this, but damnit, a man can dream!!!

ETA: Thoughts from Arky fan WooPigSooie20 from another thread...

If you look at our offense, a spread coach could come in and put up 35+ ppg. We have ideal spread people rn. Big QB who can do both, several shifty receivers who could do things in space and several good RBs. It's embarrassing how little BB gets out of his players.

You don't know what the psycho would do here, it's all purely conjecture. He's got better recruiting in Bama than he'd ever have here.

And btw- I will participate in no 'parades' for someone who wins 8 games a season. I may not be infuriated by them like I am Bert but no yee haws either.

who would be on AU's short list if Gus were to go to Arky or if Gus were to get fired?

Honestly no one worth a shite. We have a thread on our dumb board goin over firing our coach to go on to hire a slam dunk guy who wins 7 or 8 games at a shitty school in a shitty conference. Or Chip Kelly is another popular one that people mention because hirin the coach who lost to Chizik in the championship, a guy that most Auburn fans wanted to fire Jacobs over alone.

Our Auburn board has completely lost its shite and has gone full retard as of the LSU game.

I'd think AU could put $4-5M in front of someone like Brohm and get him in. There are probably some other up and coming names that would love a shot at that job. I'm not sure you lure a big name away from a place he's having success though, so I get why some people what to bring up Chip Kelly (though I'm not convinced he'd be as successful in the SEC as he was in the Pac).

What about Petrino? Is this the time he finally goes back to AU? (or, what about Jimbo)

This is true. Was amazed at the number of new posters over there I'd never seen before. At least they seem to stay quarantined over there.

Why? Instead of cucking it up running the ball 17 straight times in a row on first down with an extra defender in the box like ol' Gustav he will never run the ball...LOL
