That’s not the only joke. Louisville loses three in a row to end the season, with another loss to 3-9 Pitt and is still ranked.

Iowa beats no one all year, gets their asses kicked by Tennessee. Still ranked.

This year was strange, FSU got screwed big time.
I think Georgia or another SEC school could possibly beat Michigan.

Stupid to put UGA ahead of Bama for obvious reasons...but it really doesn't matter. Beating a crippled team by a bunch must have really impressed voters.

Should be

1. Michigan
2. Georgia or Alabama (1 loss Georgia vs 2 loss Bama that beat Georgia)
3. Alabama or Georgia
4. Washington (1 loss but beaten pretty decisively. Hung around, but was always clear who the better team was in the game)
5. Texas (Lost to the third best team in the playoff. Beat Bama very early in the season, but had looked shaky several times afterwards)

OP other than #1, your list is full of shite on a lot of these teams. Either overrated or underrated.

But Georgia couldn't even beat Alabama.

IT's not his list, yellboy

It's the AP poll.

See, these media members are selected by the Associated Press to rank teams in a college football poll. They take all of those rankings and combine them into one overall ranking. And this is their final ranking.

This is exactly what they want. All of the subjectivity with the committee and the polls keeps the conversation going and continues to get clicks. The money makers and decision makers couldn't care less what team deserves what because they're just printing money at this point.

Doesn't really matter. But at this point, I don't think what Texas did vs. Bama in Sept. should have as much say in the final polls. Bama took the champ to OT and beat what many believe to be the best team. Texas lost to an okay OU team and lost to Washington team that got manhandled in the championship game and never had a lead in that game.

It's just fodder for the water cooler. Nothing more. UM are national champs. Only things that matters.

My cousin Billy Bob has a final poll out too.

It means about as much as the AP poll does.

Not saying that it should. However, Bama just beat UGA in the last game of the season and took the national champion to overtime. What in the world could be the argument for UGA being ranked ahead of Bama in the final poll? At some point what happens on the field has to matter and carry more weight than "I think team A would beat team B."

Mizzou lost to common opponent LSU. Their OOC schedule was worse / no better than OM. I guess a moral victory against UGA gets you the higher ranking?

It's the recency bias of polls. We lost more recently than they did. Same with UGA and Bama.
