This was a class move by Fanning, give the kid some credit.

Do you think it was his idea to write the apology letters?

Not mad. I love defensive football, and love to see big hits and tackles, but if that was an illegal tackle, he should sit some.

Would have given us a cushion in the West.

I believe it was announced before the game that he was suspended for the game.

Who is knocking the Kid or Saban?

Im not. I applaud him for reaching out. Its a learning process for young athletes to make mistakes and own them. I applaud him for that.

That doesn't change the fact he should receive discipline from the conference for that tackle.
Then go to Mike Slive and file a complaint.

The kid has taken ownership, he's made amends for his actions, and his head coach is handling any disciplinary action internally.

Your gripe is with the SEC - so take your angst to them.

I have no idea. He'll learn the lesson either way. And I'm not gonna pretend that I know the answer to that question or that it affects the legitimacy of the apology one way or the other. Classy move by Saban and the boys regardless.

An apology letter? This isn't grade school.

Coach Saban will handle this. He doesn't need input from the SEC Rant.

Hell no, we've got a team full of badasses that are just chomping at the bit to get their chance to take someone's head off on the football field.

IMHO, this is all Saban - he and Pinkel are old team-mates from way back in college. It's more of a gesture to Pinkel and the player on behalf of and old friend that just whipped your arse.

Then how can you say it's a class move on his part if you have no idea of why he did it? If the media had not blown this up, there probably would never have been any apology. I try not to praise something for something that is forced to do

Is this his real twitter page? If it is that apology doesn't mean squat cause he sure seems pretty proud of that cheap shot.

Nothing says you're sorry more than a picture of this on your Twitter page.
