Explain Horns Down. It’s as offensive as flipping the bird or Jack off motion?

As offensive as the Hitler salute?
As offensive as the white power “ok” sign?

The cancel culture of Horns Down really needs to be explained/ explored.

For the life of me I don’t get the outrage.

Any Horns care to explain?

I am legitimately curious about the supposed outrage.

Is it faux outrage created by the media?

Do Texas fans really give a shite and take offense when someone turns their fingers upside down?

They don’t take losing well, and horns down is an in your face reminder of their failure.

I'm with you on this one, and I just started thinking about this hard yesterday because that's when I saw a video of the BYU coach beginning his post-game press conference by apologizing for some fans wearing a Horns Down before the game.

Coach said "that's just not who we are" and he looked as if someone had just died.
It was completely bizarre

I'm not attempting to troll here and call Texas UTrans or Farthorns or however we're supposed to do it, but I TOO am completely stumped here and I guess I don't get it.

100% this. Watched the same press conference and this is getting weird for these coaches to have to apologize to Texas for this.

Someone smarter than me needs to explain so we all understand what is going on.

DildoU doesn’t take offense to the bird or jack off motion due to the sexual nature of such gestures.

As the horns come rolling in with their responses, you’ll find this to be the actual truth:

tu has a grandiose sense of self importance. Any public display of disrespect, no matter how small, is seen an egregious insult, and direct attack at their “brand” (but really their ego).

They are the entitled rich kid who doesn’t get picked on any more than any other kid, but their daddy visits with to the principal to make it stop.

This type of behavior from them is typical and well documented. In 1985 in the midst of a 42-10 arse whipping in favor of Texas A&M at Kyle Field, the QB complained to the ref that the crowd was too loud to hear the snap count. The ref actually stopped the play and threatened to throw a flag if the crowd wouldn’t quiet down.

Here is the video if you don’t believe me.

The ok sign hand signal means white power? since when?

I sometimes work in a very loud environment and we will communicate with hand signals. I daily use the OK sign and have never had a black person say anything.

It's an automatic penalty in the Big 12 if a player does it. Is it also a fine if the school "condones" it in an environment like yesterday?

I can't imagine any coach reacting like the BYU coach did unless they were trying to avoid a penalty of some kind from the conference.

That is 100% not going to fly in the SEC. If that is offensive, Rammer Jammer and STTDB will traumatize that fanbase.

Yep, pretty much sums it up.

What's worse is that they have made the gesture of national importance by forcing the Big 12 to make Horns Down a penalty! Yes, if you didnt know this then you are in for a treat when they try to pull the same thing in the SEC.

"Big 12 conference actually declared the gesture by players during games to be an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty beginning in 2019"

Idiots didnt realize this only put a national media presence on the topic and how extremely disrespectful it is to the institution of "TEXAS".

And now....basically it is a household gesture! Too funny.

Entire SEC stadiums....I cant wait!!

And to explain to us that the thousands of calls that complained about the ByU horns down shirts were not really UTrans admin and fans but imposters

What you are really asking for is an in-depth analysis of the collective psyche that exists in Austin

They don't like it and they have money. That's really all there is to say about it. But wave some jelly dongs in their face and they're perfectly cool with it.
