I doubt this thread catches as much bait at the, "Why not UAB" thread did
Except East Carolina pushes the SEC network into North Carolina

UAB adds nothing...absolutely nothing
No one on this board really understands expansion worth a damn

Pretty sure bama fans would absolutely flip their shite if this happended soo . . . there's your value right there
Nevertheless, I think the SEC goes for a Basketball power during the next round of expansion since Mizzou failed to do that one thing they were asked to do when they joined

As if UAB would be a threat to Bama? But yeah, adding UAB would be stupid because there shouldnt be 3 teams from the same state in one conference.

Further expansion won't be about football or basketball "powers"...it will be strictly market driven
The SEC already has the product, we don't need to improve that, not even in bball....what the SEC needs is more market penetration...more $$$$ per team.
When you eliminate all ACC schools and Big XII schools, you're left with East Carolina and Cincinnati...or some odd mix of New Mexico and Colorado State. Either that, or we wait out the Big XII land grant crap (5 years on that) and go after either OU and Okie State, or Kansas and K-State....neither which are sure bets to join...

UVA isnt leaving VaTech.
UVA would have no issues leaving VA Tech. They didn't even want them in ACC. It took VA Tech bitching and moaning like a 5 year old to politicians to force their way in.

I dont know why you are eliminating ACC schools. Their TV rights deal isnt going to stop anyone who wants to leave.

No way Virginia leaves and joins us....they'd join the Big 10 first
its not happening here in the SEC

Sweet melt.
Claiming that ECU is a legit candidate for expansion makes it pretty clear you dont know what you are talking about.

East dafuq?
For what reason do you want to give the other bigs more ammunition to laugh at the SEC's shitty schedules?

Agree
Conference realignment has been going on a full speed for the past few years, but now the end could be in sight. The ACC and their 15-member schools have agreed to hand over their media rights to the league for the next 15 years.
This means that all member schools give their multimedia rights up to the league, and do not own them; therefore making a switch to a new league impossible. With the ACC controlling all of the media rights, if a team leaves neither the new league or the school would get any television money as it will stay with the ACC.

Sure East Carolina......maybe we could also get Middle Tennessee State or Georgia Southern or maybe Western Kentucky.
The SEC needs to go big because the best should only accept the best, makes you wonder why we have some to the additions that we have already brought on.

And as much as everyone wants North Carolina, Virginia Tech, etc., most of the teams we want aren't coming....
Realignment is based on media contracts being renewed so in about a decade the teams you say will never come may indeed do so. Patience is a virtue.
I would rather slow play the hot chick than get beer goggled and wake up with the fat chick.

All it will take is a someone to take the ACC to court and that will be broken easily. Its not going to stop anyone who really wants to leave.
