You say this until your beloved Tide gets pushed out the playoff system by being ranked 5. Then your squirrelly arse would beg for more games. Lol

Yea, well when will that happen? We're still waiting.

I disagree. There's an outside chance that a 1 vs. 16 regular season matchup on the west coast might still get scheduled for a late kickoff, but no way would a 1 vs. 8...that'd be the Game Of The Week for any weekend. As long as there are more major conferences than playoff spots, 4 doesn't cut it IMO. 8 works, and it wouldn't dilute anything. Again, a 1 vs. 8 would be a big deal in the regular season, so why wouldn't it be in a playoff?

If we had 16 teams in a PO we would get so many redo's. Guess who AU would have played in the first game in 2010? We were #16 and AU was #1 so you would have played us. You can be arrogant about it but I guarantee you 99% of AU fans at the time, if honest, would not have wanted to play us again. If we have won that one I also would not have wanted to replay you guys.

I'm not for 16 teams. I was just giving an example that a 1 vs. 16 game wouldn't get anyone nearly as excited as a 1 vs. 8. I think 16 would dilute things, and I bet the overwhelming majority feel the same way. A 1 vs. 8 is still a Top-10 matchup that'd be a huge deal in the regular season, so I fail to see how all of a sudden it'd be a dog in a playoff scenario.

People keep saying "we got 4, next you're gonna want 8, then 16, and so on". No, many of us are just "settling" with 4, but always wanted more than that from the start. Every once in a blue moon, someone suggests 16, but most level-headed people I know want it in the 6-8 range.

An 8 team playoff which includes the 5 conference champions and 3 at large bids would be ideal. That would place value on the conference championship and also give credit to non conference champions records.

Which you would see a lot more of if we gave automatic bids to conference champions and pushed the schedule to 16 games.

And the first PO game should be at the home of the highest ranked team. My evidence is tbe ticket price of the Championship game which sold at or below face value on stubhub. All us fans were flat out exhausted and broke.

So, do you plan to not give Washington an equal number of tickets to the game in BDS?

If we slip up and lose tomorrow, you'd rather us have to play OSU in Columbus and only get 5,000 tickets?

The tickets on StubHub aren't cheap because fans are broke. They're cheap because Florida was just there last year and Gator fans aren't going to pay big money to go back to see an arse whipping, and Bama fans are going to be back in the same building in 4 weeks anyway.

Cupcake games aren't what has absolutely ruined the college basketball regular season.

Agreed, with an NCAA fund or deal to broker with travel agencies to reduce cost of travel for opposing team fans.

Since when does the NCAA give one frick about fans traveling to playoff games? If they did, they wouldn't have the national championship game on the second Monday in January. And they sure aren't interested in saving money for the fans.
