468 yards vs. UCLA
399 yards vs. Aub
491 yards vs Arky
378 yards vs SC
684 yards vs Tenn

Avg of 484 yards given up against P5 teams. Bama will likely go over 500 moving your average closer to 500. Congrats on being happy with a 500 yard per game defense.

ESPN:How John Chavis helped turn the Aggies into a playoff contender

Seems a little premature considering what they have coming at them this weekend. Some potential for having to...

Yep the tears of a team you haven't beaten in a very very long time. Congrats on the defense though. 500 yards a game is stellar.

Forcing 7 TO's makes up for it. I'll take TO's, Red Zone D, TFL's and Scoring D over yards given up all day every day. You can get some yardage on A&M and even score some but A&M is going to make plays on D as well.

7 TO's and still giving up 700yds is quite the fricking accomplishment actually. Christ........

And fwiw, A&M is currently #33 in scoring defense giving up 23 per game. 98th in total defense. That redzone defense? Through 6 games opponents have gotten into the redzone 26 times: 7 rush TDs, 4 pass TDs, 6 FGs. Alabama and LSU are low on that list because Bama has only had team in the Red Zone 15 times, LSU 17 times. All of that shite won't matter after this weekend though for either team. Ole Miss and Bama are going to put up points.

It's just funny how low the bar is set for this Aggy defense.

I like Chief. Hes been a great coach at three big universities. I dont get why anyone would say otherwise. The man made a career decision. People shouldnt take things so personal.

That said I also like Aranda and am eager to see what he does in November.

Loved the Chief when he was at LSU. No hard feelings that he left. Was upset when he left but at the same time happy bc his late game defense cost us some pretty big games.

The Aggies' defense is better, no doubt. But it isn't elite.

TAM opponents are scoring at 83% of their average.

That's a decent number but not great.

Bama opponents, for example, are scoring at 48% of their average.

Forcing 7 TO's

I've seen this thrown out there before. One was an INT that bounced off the wr into the hands of the DB, how was that forced? How did the defense force the fumble on the kick return?

Giving up that many yards and teams not scoring. Doesn't that say a lot about the offenses and teams you've faced? they aren't very good

You're right. Defensive players only forced 6 TOs. They simply capitalized on a UT mistake on the 7th.

That was a LBer who knocked the crap out of your return man.

You're on a good run right now, but after his D gives up a game winning drive for the 10th time I look forward to your melt.
