No, no it wasn't. The vols needed a homerun hire and didn't get it. This hire will not put asses in the seats at Neyland.

Not a big NAME hire, but certainly a good hire nevertheless. He's a good, young coach. For plan C, he's a great save IMO.

The seats aren't wide enough for most TN butts anyway.

That is a pretty chicken shti thing to say if you are really a fan of the program. I have been an Alabama fan my entire life and I pulled for the Tide all of those years we were not so good.

If you think about it the good times are very brief and few and far between. It is Alabama and LSU's time right now and it will one day go away. I am enjoying it now but I will always enjoy Alabama football.

You are a putz.

That's the difference between the two programs. When Bama fires Shula, they hire Saban. When Tennessee fires Dooley, they make what will certainly be a program killing hire. There literally isn't any chance this works out, and it will be evident from day one.

It's in every way a terrible hire at a time when Tennessee desperately needed to get it right. I'd be stunned if Tennessee wins the SEC within the next decade.

Seriously? You guys think this is a bad hire?

Yes It's a bad hire, he recruited like shite at cincy and has no ties to the south. He was also 1-4 against top 25 teams.

Will Dave Hart say Butch Jones was his first choice?

Oh really? You must be twelve or you have alzheimers.

Do the names, Franchione, Dubose, Mike Price along with Shula ring a bell? Give me a break. We went through 15 years of shitty football before we got Saban.

It really doesn't matter because UT will be irrelevant as long as Saban is at Alabama anyway and Muschamp is going to own the East.

They got so delusional about Gruden coming by hanging onto every vague comment and smilie emo put out there by BabyVol & TenaciousD. Anything less than JG is a fail...

I think it's a fantastic hire. Can't imagine why Auburn wasn't looking at him.

I think the SEC has finally gone NFL. Gonna be even harder to go undefeated with just about every program running high speed. We don't really know that Arky, Auburn, UK, and UT will improve -- but how could they not? Not a weak coach in the bunch.

The real question is about to be: will an 11-2 SEC team make the NCG over an undefeated B1G team?

Hell no, I love Muschamp. I wanted him at Alabama when I thought we were not going to get Saban. Muschamp is the next Nick Saban. There will be a time in college football that he and Kirby Smart battle it out for the crystal. I just hope Kirby is at Alabama after coach Saban leaves.

Time to take a step back from Tennessee football. If this is what we're going to get, it's not worth it.

Well who exactly did you think you would get? Gruden was a pipe dream and was never going to take the job. There are too many pro jobs coming open for him to even consider college football.

So who did you think would be interested?
