So your saying that if 11-2 team wins there conference they should automatically get a seed in the playoffs? Even though there are 1 loss teams out there?

Hope Wisconsin beats...them
From how Wisconsin has been playing lately, I think there's a good chance they beat the Buckeyes...

This is why 4 team playoff won't last very long. 8 team playoff here we come.

Herbie and Kanell are pushing Ohio St bc they will win their conference. How can a 1 loss Buckeye team go past a 1 loss Bulldog team? Look at the schedules and who each team played. Miss St is gonna get screwed here if both teams win out and it will be a tragedy.
I said the same thing with the CFPC...how in the world Minnesota remained #25 after a loss is beyond me. Seems like they are manipulating the rankings to be able to push OSU in if they win the B1G.

it all plays out.
It almost always does. Let's discuss this again next week and even two weeks from now before the conference championship games kick off.
I still think it's a little early..

Poor non conference scheduling deserves to be punished, period

It should have stayed at two. Now the arguments go on about which undeserving teams are more deserving. A conundrum.

Ohio State has beaten two
Thanks to the committee not dropping Minnesota a single spot after their loss this past weekend. Propped up ranked team.
I wonder which team that propped up?

Think about this though. Ohio State lost to Virginia Tech at HOME who is now 5-5 on the season.
While true, everybody can have abad game. Don't get me wrong, I think Mississippi St. is the better team and deserves to be there. You REALLY need to beat Mississippi, though...and I think you will. It would also go a long way if you make it to the SECCG and win that,as well. You guys have an excellent team and deserve all the attention you are getting.

Poor example, try again. Ole Miss dropped, Minn did not.
LSU's one spot drop after Bama loss would have been a better example, especially after the way things have turned out. But I digress.

Well, when you thnk about it, Mississippi State has only beaten 1 ranked team so far, and Ohio State has beaten two.
Mississippi State's one loss is to #1 on the road.
Ohio State's one loss is to a 5-5 Virginia Tech team at home by 2 touchdowns.

yup, and have one of the nation's best coaches.
In all seriousness though, that Virginia Tech loss is pretty damning.

MSU is still ahead of OSU now, but if OSU jumps them in the end I don't think it will be an egregious error. I think the committee doesn't necessarily want to reward teams like MSU and Baylor who played jokes of non-conference schedules because it might encourage that behavior in the future.

The thing that hurts Miss St is that the committee doesn't look at how bad your losses are at the end of it all. They look at conference champions, strength of schedule, head to head, and common opponents.
they dont pay real close attention to sos either. they only look at head to head when its necessary. common opponents, meh, who knows how they treat this yet. the main thing they look for thus far is style points. how good did you look beating your opponent, or how good id you look in a lose, is the biggie right now.
in listening to jeff long last night he commended bama for handling msu. but later he commended msu for only losing by 5 points. the committee gave style points to bama for the 19-0 lead they had and then gave style points to msu for a 5 point lose on the road. thats how bama jumped to #1 and msu stayed in top 4. they used each teams style points to justify the final ranking for the week. crazy aint it.

The 4 playoff contenders should be champions of the power conferences.
