Just sad that people acted this way because of skin pigmentation.

Exactly. And that's addressed at the very beginning.

It was 1962 in Louisiana as well. We've all got our ghosts.

Isn't James Meridith pretty much considered crazy these days? Seems like someone told me somethin like that but I can't remember
My friend met him and said he's a cool old dude. Holds no ill will about his past.

As my grandmaw has told me before I was a different time and there were some mean hateful people back during those times.

Yeah. Not exactly crazy but he's lost some of his sanity.

@edsbs: Okay, I laughed at an Ole Miss QB throwing a molotov cocktail and missing.
Yeah, there needs to be some humor while watching this
Had no idea people actually died during the integration at Ole Miss so this is all new to me

There's plenty now too

Well back then, if you weren't a rich, Christian, male landowner, you were trash and were treated as such

It was a social institution. From our POV, it's had to believe. In the 60s though, society in the south had a much different mindset. The federal government was forcing change, and the south has never been a big fan of change or the Feds.
This is the kind of story we need to remember as southerners. Move forward, but don't forget...

I don't know if I could have done what J.Meredith did.

Seems pretty cool. Goes to a lot of university functions and sports the logo quite often. He is an Ole Miss Rebel 100%

It took balls. Huge ones.

I am guessing that ole miss Fans will hate this documentary. Just like Alabama and auburn fans hate the one about the iron bowl. Few bad apples get shown again and again on tv. Everyone outside of the region just reaffirms their thoughts of the region.... Even though it was 50 years ago in this case

Bobby Boyd sounds like Derek Dooley.

It may have been this I heard, that people were upset with him bc he should be more bitter or be more critical of OM/whites about it. Which is a shame bc if more ppl were as forgiving as him about things the world would be a much better place
Just to be clear not directing this towards any one race or group (damn I hate dealing with sensitive subjects)

just wait till the documentary basically insinuates that it's still like that today. You know it is coming right at the end
