I don't mind the flag if it's used to respect those who lost their lives fighting for the Confederacy or states rights, but the ignorant hicks who put it on their bumper and are racist as frick bother me.
Same.
When the freshmen ran across the field in 2010 some dumbass broke out the Confederate flag and waved it above his head. Security was on top of him shockingly fast.

I think it's a cool looking flag...just wish it didn't represent racism to so many.
I do think it's pretty stupid that LSU has a purple and gold star/bars. If you love the flag that much, fly the original colors.

Because no one cares enough to learn about it. They just think its all about southern slavery.
I know...but after all this time, slavery is tied to the flag and history of the confederacy. It is what it is now.

It's definitely what has stayed with it the most. Everything else is just forgotten.

I feel bad for some of the players.
I'd like to think that some of them really felt bad for some of the blacks that lived around them during that time period.

It's just like a lot of things back then, the parents fought for things they wanted, but the kids probably didn't care about. Kids aren't born racist, they learn from watching their parents.

My grandpa remembers when this happen.
Ironically enough he was in grad school at LSU at the time. LSU students didn't act any better towards him either.

It's a bad part of the school's and the south's history. It shouldn't look good.

It's history, it happened 50 years ago.
Ole Miss and the state of Mississippi has grown and changed from past mistakes.

It was 1962 in Louisiana as well. We've all got our ghosts.
