Jk... mostly. But, the fact remains that some of the power brokers in the SeC need their ADs to step-up and acknowledge the TV scheduling is killing game day fan interest and continues to place players in less than ideal game day conditions. Heat has an accumulative effect. Playing an SEC schedule is tough enough. Schit scheduling makes it tougher down the stretch and no one should be wondering where the mid-October offensive slump comes from.

I have no stats other than anecdotal evidence, but I imagine LSU has the most late summer/early fall night games, regardless of OOC opponent strength. So, kudos to your AD

Personally. I'm glad Bama's AD has acknowledged the base's concerns and relayed the issue. We have a schit OOC schedule this year all the way around, with the single 1/4 of a decent game being a neutral site venue. It is hard to put butts in seats at 100 degrees plus for a soft, creamy cupcake. Leads to lack of fan interest, students leaving early, and even the team is half involved.

I'm waiting for an the AD to flop it on the table and simply dictate when they prefer to play a game for once. It is coming.

If the bammer press would get off their lazy asses and schedule them some better opponents this would not be a problem, now would it. Looking at you Cecil Hurt.

LSU night games are a very big deal though.

Not a fair comparison imho.

LSU shouldn't get special treatment of getting more night games just because they want them and claim it's for the sake of tradition. It's a tradition because LSU gets better attenance at night, especially early in the season when it's so dang hot.

Any game that's played in mid-afternoon with a 105° heat index, when it's not necessary to meet TV coverage contracts is a big deal. The SEC NW televised last Saturday's Bama game -- same time slot as Clemson vs A&M. They had unused slots on their alternate channels where they could've televised the game that night -- same time slot as LSU vs Texas.

Either way, the viewing audience was going to be limited to Bama fans. There was no valid reason for the SEC NW to not be agreeable to playing that game at night. Bama's complaint is justified.

Bama will draw watchers, therefore it gets put on main channels.

Bama vs Little Sisters of the Poor does not maintain watchers at peak times, but does draw viewers at non-peak times.

It’s a business decision.

LSU doesn’t draw watchers like Bama does nationally, therefore when they play a shitty team, LSU is put on ESPN+, or, at best, the SECN.

This will continue to happen when Bama schedules bad opponents because they draw viewers during non-peak times, but blowouts will not maintain viewers at night peak game times.

That is my actual opinion for why that happens.

What time the LSU/Northwestern State game again? I forgot.

So, 80 years later and you are just now figuring out why LSU has a tradition of playing at night?

Like Nick said, "we'll play anyone anywhere." Nobody wants to play us. 5 out of 10 championships has castrated fools.

Probably right, honestly, though I'm not sure Alabama vs Generic G5 team really draws many more eyes than anyone else. It's gonna be almost exclusively the teams fans and that's it.

I disagree about that.

National Champ team that has been to the playoffs as much, if not more than anyone else?

If there are choices of crappy 3PM games to watch, people will probably put that one on.

It’s the opposite. People want to see upsets.
