55 million for someone doing something illegal? How can they hold the hotel responsible for it? So basically, the hotel should secretly video record all the rooms within the hotel to monitor anyone else video taping someone else through a hole in the wall? It would be almost impossible to stop this.

The hotel gave the guy her room number and put him next to her at his request. That may not be worth the 26 million they are on the hook for, but it's worth something.

She will almost certainly only get a fraction of that. 51% of 55mill is to be paid by the offender so she ain't getting any of that. The hotel companies to pay the rest and they will probably settle out of court.

What do you mean "settle out of court"? They already went to court. The court awarded her 55 mil.

Still can settle. Happens all the time. Defendants can appeal and draw this out for months. She might take less now that she has won and go ahead and get it over with and take the sure thing.

I also read that the company could fill bankruptcy and almost get out of paying anything. She can settle for some amount now that will be guaranteed or maybe never get a dime.
