She'll get max 12-13m from that.
I doubt she ever sees much of it. Where is the guy that did the filming going to get any money? Marriott will appeal this as far as they have to.

if she was wronged, i hope she gets everything she can but, i'm still skeptical. multiple hotels in multiple states gave up her room? no one saw him altering peep holes? how did barrett know her schedule? she just happened to be in the line of sight of the peephole doing things nude that basically no one does? all of that seems far fetched without her involvement in some kind of way. maybe someone can help me figure out how this wasn't a publicity stunt.

The amount is stupid. I do however like it when a message is sent that certain things are not okay, and that doing them will bring about dire consequences. Guy was a perv, but could have been a lot worse. Giving out people's room numbers, and booking the room next to hers was deserving of "a message" not to do that.

Rodney King was given less than 4 million. What happened to her was less traumatic than that. I wonder if he could date without girls seeing that video... and that was years before the web as we know it.

She was asking for $75 million, the jury only awarded her $55 million.

The Marriott will try to appeal, no doubt, but she'll get all of it eventually, it'll just take time.

She's already got decent money. She's worth around $4 million right now and she earns a little better than three bills a year with Fox Sports plus doing the speaking circuit and various promotional appearances. She likely pays for very little - most of it is given to her. So she can afford to wait a little while until the appeal process works itself out but in the meantime, the Marriott will most certainly have to honor the award granted her if they are denied an appeal, which most likely they will be.

Well lets not forget Erin Andrews was victimized here. You can see her naked anytime as its just a click away on PornHub or similar sites. I watched and it will be out there for
eternity for anyone else to watch it including her friends, family, colleagues, and future kids. That is pretty humiliating for any female. Is it worth $55 million? I don't know but that is what the jury agreed to so frick Marriot and this creep who did it to her.

25 years ago. $4 is a helluva lot more in 1991 in today's dollars.

Everyone agrees that the $55M will not stand up. But as for the comment she did this to advance her career? Good Lord. She is a public figure in the sporting world & covers multiple sports all over the country. Imagine if your daughter or sister was in her shoes & every time she entered an arena, she had to hear the obscene chants that she described in her testimony. Basically causing her to relive the mental trauma over & over again. A Marriott exec was caught on tape a few nites before the verdict was reached as saying at a dinner table with friends, while showing a tape of it:" I'm going to have to pay her millions, I mite as well see her naked". Pretty much shows us what Marriott's perspective was all bout.

Settlement was in 94, right under 60% actual inflation= barely 6 million today. I wish these weren't easily researchable facts. https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/

A place to discuss "more sports" would take this site to the next level, IMO.

I believe the guy called the central reservation desk at Marriot, asked specifically if Erin Andrews was staying at that hotel, and what room number. He requested a room adjoing hers and they gave it to him. This happened a couple of times as he taped her in two different cities....so Marriot absolutely shares some blame here.

Dont know but they did a story on the Today show where they had their female producer book a room and then one of the male reporters came in (undercover)
to the front desk with only her name and asked to be put in the room next to her. Worked on all four hotels they tried.

"Harmed" as in her career and notoriety kicked off after it. She went from hot sideline girl to whatever she is now , and now we have a continued cycle of the "next erin andrews"
