Tadd wasn't man enough to beat AU. They never are when it matters and they are facing a decent AU team.

you forgot Washington State and aTm. Those were close games too.

In fact, I guess we should explore claiming losses for every game AU has one by less than 8 points.

It was a competitive advantage Nick Saban failed to prepare for. Deal with it. Antonio Cromartie did it a couple years back for the San Diego Chargera, and O'dell Beckham Jr did it for LSU last year.

I think that the IB play takes on the mythical once-in-a-lifetime type quality because it was the last play of the last regular season game to decide the division between bitter rivals. It wasn't a Hail Mary bomb or a pass interception return...it was the 100+ yard return of a just-short 57 yard FG attempt to win the game. The odds of that play occurring as it did, despite Nick's oversight of personnel on the field, was astronomical.

I'm betting that we will never see that play, in that situation, again.

At best in that situation I'd give that play happening 2 outta every 10 tries. So your definition states that as luck

No a play that's successful 20% of the time cannot be describe as being lucky. Again 1/100 would be. The hail mary against UGA would be considered lucky.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Your coach blew the game and possibly the Nat'l Championship with that decision. It happens. Gumpville is the only place where a coach can blow the entire season and still be prayed to daily and get a raise.
I mean just look at this board. Is there any real criticism of the decision? 1/5 for it all? Thats like going for it on what 4th and 8. Most wouldnt take that risk unless behind.
Its.... well it shouldnt have happened..... it will never happen again..... its a 1/5 play.... .....whatever.

PS
Never is a long time.

I don't think the Gump melt from the kick six will ever end.

Gonna be interesting to see how they react after Gus beats the lil lying midget again this year.

To be clear Auburn's schedule sets up to be very difficult Auburn will likely be better this year and could have more losses. To claim Alabama was luck is silly. Auburn likely wins that game in OT if you look at the 2nd half stats. The idea Auburn barely escaped MSU last year and a vague reference to luck is fools understanding.

MSST AUB
1st Downs 19 22
3rd down efficiency
5-15 7-15
4th down efficiency
2-2 0-0
Total Yards 415 459
Passing 213 339
Comp-Att
15-28 23-34
Yards per pass
7.6 10.0
Rushing 202 120
Rushing Attempts
40 36
Yards per rush
5.1 3.3
Penalties 5-33 1-5
Turnovers 0 3
Fumbles lost
0 1
Interceptions thrown
0 2
Possession 34:23 25:37

This information shows where Auburn took control of this game in the 2nd half MSU's last real opportunity to score came with 12:38 in the 3rd quarter. Auburn led in all important stats except 2.

Time of possession…with the HUNH this isn't unusual.

Turnovers…Auburn 3 and MSU 0 that is how an inferior team keeps it close and almost pulls an upset.

Even without the routine pass in the end zone to win the game Auburn likely would have used their All-SEC caliber kicker to tie the game on 4th down and then barring a turnover won it in OT as the entire 2nd half had been trending toward the better team. This happens a lot in football. Pay attention.

Im with you. U cant give anyone that kind of power and control and not implode. Im so anxious to see how much kneeling will be going on when that first down season occurs. The firings and drama will be entertaining.
Look at how they are about the freshman FG attempt.

Public Service Announcement to the "Auburn needed a miracle to beat Alabama" crowd:

Auburn had all the momentum at home in a game that was going to OT if the Kick Six hadn't happened. (i.e. I'd pick them to win that game regardless)

play: a move or maneuver in a sport or game

circumstance: a fact or condition connected with or relevant to an event or action

The play was the same. The circumstances were very different. Since play =/= circumstance, your argument is invalid.

Let's not show any gender bias. I thought Phyllis was one of the funniest things Ive ever heard in sports. Whatever happened to that gal? Was she the one in the hair pulling fight?
