A play being lucky is based off of the odds of that play happening in that same situation. You kick a long FG with a bunch of fat boys on the field while the other team is set up to return then the odds of it being returned are pretty high. The UGA pass on the other hand is almost never going to be tipped right into the WR's hands.
At best in that situation I'd give that play happening 2 outta every 10 tries. So your definition states that as luck

What does this have to do with the Iron bowl play? Sorry that I'm unbiased on the topic and can actually speak in non homer football language.

Moving the goalposts, then ad hominem attacks? I'm just about done with you.

By your definition if Bama had made the FG they would have only won because they were lucky.
I never defined anything any such way. You are a moron.

Yes absolutely the play is the same.
Each is a game winning field goal.
Circumstances are whats different One being a highschool game and one winning the super bowl.
But the play is without a doubt the same

Regardless of the fact whether it was lucky or not, Auburn still sucks

1 in 5 is absolutely luck, and you will find out very soon into the 2014 season that AU will not be a contender - for anything.

quote:You claimed luck is based on who you were playing, what was on the line, and how much time was left. Bama was in the same situation Auburn was. Playing a high ranked team, NC hopes on the line, and 1 second left. I would say a Bama kicker kicking a FG would be consider as Lucky as you can get.
I never defined anything any such way. You are a moron.
But of course we expect you to change the rules when it comes to Bama. We can all see who the moron is. Its only you that can't

An NFL kicker could lose his job over missing a Super Bowl kick, thereby losing his livelihood, home, etc. I have NEVER heard of a high school kid losing his home over a missed field goal.

Is playing roulette luck?

Ok thank you for explaining that to me....oh wait thats what ive been saying the whole time.
Cause either way its a field goal attempt where both people are trying to score 3 points for their teams

yes you have no control over where the ball lands. You are betting on something that no matter what you do there is a 1/38 chance on which slot it will land in.
When you are actually doing something (like returning a kick) and you can do it 20/100 times thats not luck.
A 4 year old can put a SINGLE chip on a roulette board and win more than a 28 year old gambling pro that puts 1 chip down on 1 number as well. That makes it luck.
if 2 people shoot 100 halfcourt shots and one makes 20 of 100 and the other only makes 2 thats not he is luckier. He is better because he made 18 more shots
