Dude was on the hot seat coming in, and he’s given Mizzou one of their best seasons this year.

We haven’t officially played in a “major bowl” since 1969

I know we had teams more deserving of that honor (2007, 2013) but dumb BCS rules kept them out.

If this holds up and we stay top 10 and get a NY6 bowl, it’d be so awesome and unexpected. Really big deal for Mizzou

Picked to finish last?

The vote shouldn’t even be close

Alma Airedales are all about football. He came from a helluva high school juggernaut as a player.

Is this the award for best coach not named Kirby Smart or Nick Saban?

That’s not true. We were in the Cotton twice recently and the Liberty Bowl.

Citrus bowl win vs. Minnesota was a Jan 1 game, too.

Probably as deserving as anyone else.

The Liberty Bowl, though historic, never really classified as a “major bowl.”

“Major bowls” were the BCS, and now NY6 bowls. When we won the Cotton, the BCS bowls were Fiesta, Orange, Sugar, and Rose. The NY6 is now Sugar, Cotton, Peach, Fiesta, Orange, and Rose, with two of those always being a part of the CFP.

We won Cotton right before the introduction of the NY6. Though one could certainly argue the Cotton Bowl was always premier, especially after it moved to Jerry World. It was definitely the best non-BCS game you could ask for
