Being from LA I have always kept at eye on him. What are the realistic expectations for Lacy? Will he be the clear cut #1? If he is, who pushes him for PT? Does it hurt him being out all spring with Fowler, Hart, and Yeldon behind him?

TIA

LA proved too much for the man.

If healthy and remains healthy he will be the #1.

If he gets enough carries this year to qualify, he has a very good chance to break the all-time SEC career ypc record.

I doubt being out hurts him in his standing on the depth chart, he has already proved himself. It helps shore up the #2 spot if anything.

As far as the season goes, I could see 1300 yards and double digit TDs. He should have one of the best OLs in the nation, so he could potentially have more.

I would guess 1200 yards but a reduction in his yards per carry due to seeing more 1st half carries against fresher defenses

This board has gone Bamacessed. I love it.

Lacy: 50%
Hart: 30%
Yeldon and Fowler: 20%

I think his YPC will stay the same, I mean T-Rich as a back up had a lower YPC stat than Lacy as a back up, but we'll see. Lacy just feels like the guy to always have a 6.5+ YPC.

Anyway, with the O-Line he's got, I'm gonna say 1400 yards, 15 TDs, and 0 fumbles should be expected. He might fumble, but as a Bama RB he should be expected to never lose a fumble.

I see your point with the expected part, but he did have some trouble with this earlier in his career.

Zach Mettenberger.

Although, JW's High School uni and ZM's JuCo uni do look a lot alike. It's hard to tell, but Zm is a cracker.

Assuming health is all good, yeah I think he'll have a very good year for Alabama. Bama has really done nice job of producing quality backs since Saban arrived (Coffee, ingram, trent) and Lacy has a good skillset on him.

Don't think he may put up MI/TR stats, but will still be very productive.

I just think the things he lacks, that Ingram and Trent possessed, will be offset by possibly the nation's best offensive line.

Runs one 'back hard? Have you paid any attention to his career?

i think he will put up a lot of big plays and highlights because he is a spin move waiting to happen. he's got the best OLine that Bama has had in a long long time and he might have the best passing attack that Saban has had at Alabama. i'm interested to see how teams defend McCannon next year. i'd love to see bama use more play action and keep the safeties guessing.

From what I've seen Yeldon has the ability to contribute right away which will take carries away from Lacy but behind that Oline Lacy can still break 1000 yards even splitting time with 2 other backs. Dyer broke 1000 in 2010 splitting carries with Cam, Omacc, and Fannin.

Why do you feel that the UA Oline will not be possibly the nations best?

We return four starters, including an Outland Trophy winner. Where exactly would you like to rank such a offensive line?
