I originally typed out "somewhat" and the decided to let him have the point and just address his idiocy re: our LBs.
We've missed some tackles that last year's D would have made in their sleep. Towles had a few that seemed to stand out. But nothing too egregious and nothing which seems to be a huge trend.

We tackle quite well in space. That's one of our biggest strengths. As for the LBs, Brothers is one of the best LBs in the country and a sure fire 1st team All SEC guy at this point. Scherer had 100+ tackles last year and is pacing that again. Newsome is a top shelf athlete and is turning more of that into production this year. That's an incredibly strong unit.

ON the fourth down plays against UF TN dropped 8 in coverage and only brought 3...so that doesn't work either.
Grier = GOAT.
Grier = GOAT.

Now you're just making shite up. Cool.

I'm no analyst of course. I just don't agree. I've been impressed with our ability to tackle in space when realizing how difficult it is to do. There is a reason offenses try to get guys in space. That being said, Ive thought we've been very solid in that area.
The only issues I've seen with the defense, and there haven't been many at all, are QB runs (mentioned above and this seems to give every one trouble), the middle of the field in pass defense, and despite piling up a huge number of TFLs we've left several on the table (particularly in the UK game).
Other than that, we've been solid to exceptional in every other facet

Maybe that's just his opinion. He may be wrong but I don't think he was attacking Mizzou.
I don't watch enough teams to make a declaration either way.
Try not to take everything so personally and as a sleight to Miz. This places can wear on you for sure. However, some just want to talk football.

I'm not taking it personally. I can learn some things from people who know things about football. That's why I asked him a question. When you say our LBs are subpar, I know you aren't going to teach me anything.

And actually, it seems as if we are talking about the same thing just defining it differently.
Our CBs are both very sure tacklers. I would agree that Simon doesn't tackle very well, but hes rarely in a position to do so anyway as he's playing centerfield the vast majority of the time.
The LB stuff is just WAY off base. Mizzou has a very strong LB unit.

I can't find stats for team tackles for loss. I was trying to look. I can only find that stat for individuals.
We have a lot of TFLs and missed many opportunities for more. It happens to everyone/team.

Kentrell Brothers has 59 tackles through 5 games, 4.5 TFL, half a sack and 2 INT.
Those would be good stats no matter who the opponents were. Just slink away quietly.

Geez, are we doing this again?
Brothers and Scherer were the two leading returning tacklers in the SEC coming into the season.

Not to mention he was less than 100% last week and only played about 70% of the snaps he's normally does.
