I'd love to see the stats on this concurring overall football. I'm sure it is a gambler's fallacy as would be much better to play normal defense.
Tell that to Chavis. Also, in 2010 when Bama was down to Arky, Saban blitz the shite of them and ended up with Kirkpatrick getting a pick and we scored and won the game.

I am not sure, but to me it seems like common sense to make the guy that hasn't thrown a pass all game uncomfortable in the pocket. You aren't going to get pressure with 4 when LSU is blocking 6.

That's the worst reasoning you could possibly go on

By going for it you're hurting your chances of winning
By kicking it and playing prevent you did just that

You're the most short-term thinking person on this board.

I'd really prefer to keep Bret and get rid of some Hog semi-fans.

Maybe ASU could take ''em off our hands.

The punt was the right call.

Right because that Briles spread has proved to be such a flash in the pan. No way he could continue that past RG3.

We had already made some short yardage stops. That yard is hard to get with 11 in the box. It was the right call by your coach. He made the backup QB have to go 99 yards for the win. Just so happens that the freshman got it done. I'd take that same chance any day over possibly giving them the ball practically already in position to tie the game.

You guys are quick to throw players under the bus, but the coach putting them in a bad situation gets a pass

So far the only reason you've given for going for it is that we had nothing to lose

That's not good reasoning. Bielema made the right call to punt it

I've disagreed with a few play calls involving kicks this season- this isn't one of them.

Punting is the right call for sure.

Don't pay attention to him. It's pretty clear he doesn't understand football

The 2nd time yes, but the first he needed to try to keep the ball. Hill had begun to gash and Landry was killing. You can't just let them have the ball back. I will take my chances on 4th and inches with a hard count and a sneak any day.

I like Briles.

I also like Coach B's youth and incentive to build a program over seasons that includes many more than one.

You realize Arkansas hasn't had stability in a decade. A lot of things were outside of our control too. Stability builds programs.

So to not let them get the ball back we should go for it on our own 30 yard line

Do you see how bad that reasoning is?

And momentum and a couple strong recruiting classes can give that as well. It isn't like going to a ground and pound style where you win three games, can't recruit, and come across as the whiniest coach imaginable is the only way to do that, right?

I get that you have a "long haul" mentality, but surely you realize other coaches could do that, right?

You kicked, gave them the ball and they kicked a field goal. All i'm saying is even if you had not gotten it you probably could have held them to 3 anyways. On the 2nd punt he had no choice, but to not apply any pressure is just absurd. He basically just let them march down field.

Here are Arkansas second half possessions. They were moving the ball very well (continuation of the second qtr) until the 4th.

Arkansas shut down it's offense in the 4th quarter. LSu couldn't stop them.
