I think I would have been able to get into UNC basketball, but all he cares about to this day is 'Bama football.

I don't understand this. So he loves Bama football and that's it? No other Bama sports?

There are several Alabama "fans" like that.

Well, that's all we talk about when we do speak. We might have talked about 'Bama basketball once or twice. I doubt 'Bama baseball ever came up if that's what you are getting at.

Personally, I follow all 'Bama sports, and didn't have a great weekend. Was good, though.

I thought it was a solid weekend, baseball excluded. A huge basketball win, gymnastics rolled, and softball swept.

Basketball is more popular to most UK fans to varying degrees, but despite the widespread pessimism they do love and support UK football at the end of the day.

I just can't imagine someone being a "fan" of a school in one sport and literally not giving a shite about another, especially one as popular and mainstreams as basketball.

Yeah, I thought back on it and edited my post a bit. Great wins in several sports.

Football is supported no matter what. The other sports have to be putting a winning product on the field. If that's the case, the stands are packed. Just see basketball during the better years of Mark Gottfried or baseball during Jim Wells' better years.

My sister was raised an Auburn fan and switched when she got a scholarship to Bama. I know this one guy from high school that didn't attend any college and in the last 5 years I've seen him wearing Bama stuff, Auburn stuff and is now back to wearing Bama stuff again. In high school back in the late 80's he claimed to be a Notre Dame fan. IMO he isn't really a fan of any team and just wears the colors of whoever is winning at the time.

Happened with a handful of people I went to high school with. I grew up in Tuscaloosa so 95% of my classmates were Bama fans. Most if the ones that went off to school remained Bama fans. All except thd ones that went to Auburn.

My roomy in college grew up a diehard Dawg (uga) and went to AU with me. He hardly went to AU games. I made fun of him all through college. Now he wishes he would have gone bc he can't stand the Georgia football program.
