They forget Big 12 money is currently from a contract negotiated when Mizzou, A&M, and CU were still around.

Actually I think it was renegotiated after NU and CU left.

The Big 12 Conference announced Friday it has reached an agreement on a 13-year media rights deal with ABC/ESPN and Fox.

The deal is worth $2.6 billion, an average of $200 million per year and worth $20 million per school, industry sources told ESPN.
-------------------------------------
Just last year, it appeared the league would implode by losing Texas and Oklahoma to the Pac-12. However, both schools stayed. The Big 12 did lose Missouri and Texas A&M to the SEC but replaced them this season with West Virginia and TCU.

Conference TV money is driven by cable subscriptions.

CBS gets games at a cut rate due to the nationwide publicity. They aren't gonna pay more just because OU was added.

Comparison of populations:

North Carolina 9.5 million
Virginia 8.3 million
Oklahoma 3.9 million (and the population is growing at a lower rate)

Expect future SEC expansion will be to North Carolina and/or Virginia if it happens. Otherwise, why add Oklahoma when everybody has to take a pay cut to do it?

The sec will be looking at going east for 2 schools to send mizzou back to the west..unc and Virginia are the top 2 choices with duke, va tech and ncst next..

Mizz-SEC

Proposal approved!

Vanderbilt will cover the state of Tennessee in the SEC footprint just fine.

I'm glad you clowns caught UT and the rest SEC East in a down period. You'll have something to talk about for the next 30 years. "That time back in '14 when we...."

I am also glad you're on such good terms with Vandy. You'll be spending the next few decades in the cellar with them.

Don't tell A&M fans that they were not the first choice from the SEC. It will hurt their feelings.

Just how irrelevant is your team to spend all of your time on an SEC board?

My thoughts as well. Missouri belongs in the West. Why is any team West of the Mississippi in the East? Just stupid.
I'm a huge supporter of Virginia in particular. Much more SEC than half of our current schools imo
