All of you talking trash about LF should wait until this young team grows a bit more. He isn't the game breaker we hoped at this point based mostly on poor QB play and learning the speed of the game. If Brandon Harris can open the offense, I think most of the doubters will change their opinion on LF when he's reeling off 6 yards a carry on YOUR team (if Miles/Cam run the offense with Harris that they did against NMSU). This weekend will be a big test for the whole team/staff, I think all Tiger fans are hoping Les doesn't handcuff the offense.
And yes, LF would be 2nd string for UGA since Marshal is dinged, 3rd if Marshal is healthy.

You almost lost to Tennessee. You lost to South Carolina.
And you lost to Mississippi State.
That said...what does any of that have to do with Fournette getting on the field at Georgia?
I DO agree with what many have said though. He splits carries with Chubb and Michel. He'll be fine and is doing fine.

to get hard over this small sample size is a mistake.

Love Gurley and would never wish harm to him but if he did not play and wear down defenses would chubb and Michel be as effective?
Actually, it's Chubb and Michel who help out Gurley.

LF has not lived up to the hype, because the hype was way too much. He has had a very solid first 5 games though and LSU fans should be pleased with what they have in him.
As far as playing for UGA, of course I would love to have him on the team. We learned last year you can never have too much RB depth.
To say based on yards that LF is better than NC or SM is stupid. They split carries for the second spot and if you combine their numbers they have better numbers.
TG3 610-8.8-6
SM 223-9.7-3
NC 146-6.3-1
LF 322-5.8-4
depth
TG3
KM (if healthy)
(SM, NC and LF all split for the 2/3 spot)
SM and NC are TG3 and KM part deux

Fournette is a workhorse back with 56 carries. That's twice as many as Michel or Chubb.
Michel is a change of pace guy whose yards mostly came against Troy (like more than half of his yards). He is also fragile (injured after only 23 carries).
Chubb is also a relief back with big play potential. But it is worth noting that half of his yards also came in a single game. He hasn't done quite as well since the Clemson game. Against Tennessee, he got more than 10 carries for the first time, and delivered a whopping 32 yards.
Conclusion: Michel and Chubb are change-of-pace backs that don't get a lot of carries and padded their stats with one great game each. Meanwhile, Fournette is developing into a workhorse back who leads LSU in rushing and is virtually tied with Hilliard for number of carries.
Would Fournette sit behind Gurley? Of course he would. But he would be the #2 back on the team. Michel and Chubb are not even in the same category of RB as him. They are change up guys, not every down backs.

He is also fragile
It blows my mind that so many people on this board call someone "fragile" or "injury prone" for getting hurt playing football. Sony took a hard shot and hurt his shoulder. It's football..that doesn't make him fragile. Just like Gurley having a high ankle sprain from an LSU player rolling up on him doesn't make him injury prone.

LSU also splits carries among four RBs.

Well we are in the business of making snap judgments here, and the guy got hurt after 23 carries. Idk. Obviously you are going to see things differently.

He has most of his yards against NMST, SHST, and ULM yet you want to discount what Chubb and Michel have done

Nope. He wouldnt make it on the field at Bama either

He would have gotten hurt on that play if it was his 1st or his 150th carry. That's my point...you want to say "omg he only has 23 carries and he's already hurt!!"..his amount of carries is irrelevant when discussing that play. He took a hard shot to the shoulder. He'll miss time.
That doesnt' make him fragile or injury prone.

Better question is Will Georgia ever play defense again. Been about a decade since I seen them play the kinda defense they suppose to play. Bring in big baller talent that looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane. Maybe play some of them running backs on D and you get the right formula. Conrats on the last 10 years, being the bridesmaid aint all that bad. Lol

No because LSU doesn't play at UGA this season. You must be thinking of someone else.

This is the most important point in this whole thread. LF and LSU offense has been much maligned for good reason but what the others in this SEC crowd don't understand is what Brandon Harris brings to the table. He has the same ability that Mett had in throwing across the field east, west, north, and south. Jennings could not do that and Cam was trying to dial up some offensive package that would work for him - fail. Harris picked up everyones game Sat including McGee and Williams by making the defense pull some guys out of the box. LSU has been running quite a bit up to this point against 8 and even 9 men in the box. That is why LSU's rushing game has sucked so far. It is not the OL's fault - it is too many hats in the box. We will see if BH can successfully reverse this next week.
