Also, WTF was with the cryptic shite about the Saints? Are you a Saints fan? What NFL team do you root for? Should I give a shite?

Come on guy. An ALABAMA fan is in a thread about RBs asking you if you're a SAINTS fan. It's not that cryptic.

The fact that you can't get over the "expectations" and judge the player in front of you is telling. You are more concerned with the talk than the actual game.

I never called the kid a bust. He's been merely decent so far. He's played two decent defenses and hasn't done much against either. The player I see is a decent player, not a once in a generation talent. If you disagree with that then maybe you should judge the player in front of you.

Ok pal. I was just going to point out the double standard in your own logic, but you don't feel like playing

There you go. You can't help but judge Fournette based on the incoming expectations for him. Your own statements belie the truth of this.

Saints fans were mean to Ingram! They set the expectations high for the Heisman winner!!

You want to bring this discussion to Mark Ingram. You figured that this was low hanging fruit? You want to suggest that Saints fans have judged Ingram unfairly based on their expectations of him?And I am guilty of this, because I am a Saints fan.

Am I correct that you have made all of these assumptions and this is the argument you were going to make?

Like any other SEC RB, Fournette will go as his OL goes. That's what to watch for with every team in the conference. Yeldon's FR. year, he ran behind one of the best OLs in recent memory. They can make a RB look good or bad. I'm just happy to be in conference play.

I'm judging him by what I've seen in an lsu uniform. He has been a decent player so far. He's been far from great. Kind of baffling that anyone would disagree with that assessment, but here you are

And it's pretty obvious that those throwing all the hate at LF haven't paid attention to that part of the game. Our O-line was supposed to be the strength of the team. To say they've been a disappointment this year is an understatement. They don't run block, they don't pass block, they're not effective on screens. The fact that Fournette is at 5.8 ypc behind this o-line is pretty indicative of talent to me.

Combine that with the fact that to this point we've made no one respect that passing game and constantly line up in I-form behind an o-line that sucks.

Are you starting to realize the flaw in your little gameplan?

Did he award himself the Heisman?

Did he draft himself in the first round?

It's just flawed logic. Everyones performance is going to be based on expectations. That's the way the world turns, to pretend that isn't or shouldn't be the case is naive. It's the reason the terms "bust" and "steal" exist in athletics.

Actually, the opposite is true. Judgment based on expectations is not logical at all. Judgment based on performance is.

The world turns by production. That's how the NFL works, for instance. It isn't about expectations. Its about production.

The flaw in my gameplan? You live in a world where everyone is judged from a clean slate with no expectations apparently.

He's been decent, he was supposed to be great.

Brady Quinn was a bust, Jamarcus Russell was a bust, Derek Carr was a bust, Ryan Mallett just isn't a great quarterback..but he was never expected to be.

Look at my screen name. Do I look like a Saints fan to you? That was a stupid fricking ploy, if you ask me, and it also relies on argumentation by moral equivalence which will get you beat in a formal debate.

You aren't as clever as you think you are.

Same ole non-argument. You've also circled back around to your original point, which means you lose.

Really? Do you expect a better performance this year from Fournette or Williams?

This is a question without a point. You seem fond of these.
