Putting Verne and unbiased announcers in the same sentence cost you a lot of credibility.

For me, the funniest thing all season was listening to the Mississippi-native missus screaming at Nessler over his pronunciation of Starkville.

I really don't listen to half of the shite that they say anyway.
I've never got the point of people bitching over announcers.
just seems like people just come up with reasons to bitch about stuff. And that's fine if they want to but I could really do without it if I'm at a bar or something.... I can't stand the assholes that ruin that experience

Gary Danielson and Todd Blacledge are very good color commentators. Most play by play guys are meh at best. Gus Johnson can get annoying, but he's entertaining for his role. Verne isn't even that good at #16 @ Augusta.

Verne and Gary are really the only two that I dislike, with Brando slowly starting to wear on my nerves. I honestly don't see how anyone can defend Verne as a good football announcer. He does well with other sports, but he is God awful at football.
I remember a few years back in the Arkansas vs. Florida game when the Arky receiver caught the ball and ran for about 50 yards before a UF defender knocked the ball loose into the end zone. Verne says, "Is that an incomplete pass?" He actually asks that after watching the guy run with it for 50 yards! Arkansas clearly recovered the fumble in the endzone and Verne said it was a Florida touchback. Just horrible.

Nessler and Blackledge are my favorite combo and its not close.
Tirico and Gruden were good during the outback bowl but don't usually do college games.
Verne and Gary are alright. Danielson usually makes good points and if Verne knows which two teams are on the field thats enough for me.
Herbstreit is alright but I don't like Mussberger
The worst I've listened to in a while was Mat Millen by far. The guy was wrong almost every time he made a comment.

I like Gary Danielson, Musberger, Herbstreit, Chris Fowler, Mark May, Finebaum, and Rece Davis. I like Holtz for comedy.

Like Gus Johnson and Kirk Herbstreet. danilelson, while a knob polisher for Saban, knows his shite and that's what I care about.
Mussberger and mark May can fight each other in a cage match for the right to be killed quickly. The other gets a slow and painful death.

Herbstreit is outstanding. Manages to bring lots of insight without coming across like an arrogant a-hole. Always extremely well prepared. And he just comes across as a likable guy.
