Notre Dame is Alabama's nemesis.

Not true, Bama would take their bye week at that time anyway, because it is the best time of year to take it. The truth is that LSU to most Bama fans is just another divisional game that Bama usually wins. We can actually get UT and AU to chill out by beating them. We already know that win or lose, LSU is going to bitch about something.

I've been to every TSIO since 2007. Will be in Knoxville again this weekend. I'll go the the AU game if I can get a cheap ticket, but I will not miss this game. If you want to see me melt, wait until Tennessee beats us again.

I was actually at the Kick 6 game. I was probably the only Bama fan that wasn't too upset. Walked out of the stadium with a smile. Partly because I was going to Vegas the next day, partly because it was funny seeing the Auburn fans trying to get on the field.

Tennessee is a fun rivalry. Auburn is a heated rivalry.

Im probably in the minority here...

But I want AUburn sports to lose every game and I want the University of ALabama to surpass it in every academic regard.

I have rooted for Tennessee the past few year. I want them to get better and have more meaningful games between the two of us.

has Bama/UT had to take a break because the rivalry got too intense? if not I think you have your honest answer. AU/UGA is a HUGE rivalry as well but anyone being honest knows it's never been as intense as AU/UA at its hottest. no other rivalry in CFB has. AU/GT back in the old days came pretty damn close. we definitely seem to bring out the hate.

Finally some truth coming out in the last couple of pages. It is about time this forced rivalry is called out.

Anybody here in favor of doing away with permanent cross-division opponents?

Only if we go back to 10 teams.

Take into account also that some of Alabama's worse losses are against Auburn. Starting from "Bo over the Top", to the '89 IB, Tubbs putting 6 on us, the "CamBack", and finally the kick 6.

Despite Tennessee being perceived as the second best program in the SEC by some people, Auburn has still been a bigger pain in the arse to Alabama than Tennessee. Vol fans can talk about 7 in a row all they want, but since 1970 Alabama has been able to put up streaks of 11, 8, and 9 on Tennessee. Against Auburn, Alabama's longest streaks are 9, 3, and a few 2's.

Crazy enough, both have been to the SEC Championship 5 times since it first started in '92.

and if people you have never run into at all call you an a-hole the REC propaganda machine has done its job.

A lot of it has to do with where you are from. If you are from North Alabama and were born at any point before 1990 I'd be shocked if Tennessee wasn't at the very least 1B.

Lots of Tennessee people up there and lots of Alabama people in Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga and Middle Tennessee.

Bama fans here in Chattanooga (and TN in general) are a disgrace. They were Vols fans until Fat Phil got fired and they've slowly converted all of their UT gear to Bama gear during the Saban era. I work with people like this, who for no effing reason are Bama fans when they grew up UT fans.

What I'm saying is that they should be lined up and executed via firing squad.
