What was the rant like that day?
Can that thread from the game be bumped?

Good question.

That would be a stellar bump.

I will be honest here. I don't care how important or not important it is for others. Do I like to watch other rivalry games? Some, but obviously they don't have the meaning like the Iron Bowl, and I wouldn't expect the Iron Bowl to be something more than a game to other fans. It has produced some great games, but so has other games not named Iron Bowl.

Bottom line for me I like great football, and watching top talent doing something special on the field regardless of school they play for. However, if a team is just bad like we have been the last two years I wouldn't find it intriguing at all. I guarantee many were watching 2010 though.

Big rivalry in the SEC! As far as the rest of the country? It would depend on where you live.

"Care" about it? Like if it dissipated, would i be mad? No. I wouldn't care. But i do like watching college football rivalry games anyway

Did anyone outside of UT and aTm fans care about that game other than it being just another football game to watch? No.

Those of us who are old enough truly appreciate ALL of the old rivalries.

I love the Iron Bowl.

Michigan/Ohio State.

USC/UCLA.

aTm/UT.

et.al.

I obviously care about the Iron Bowl.

But, I care about any high profile rivalry in the SEC. I look forward to the Egg Bowl, TWLOCP, LSU-Arkansas (yes, I'm aware you guys don't consider that a rivalry), ect. SEC football is a unique sport in that it is built upon tradition and doing things the way they have been done for 80 years. Every matchup in the SEC is just another chapter in a book that will keep going for maybe hundreds of years from now. Baseball (MLB) is really the only other sport that compares to SEC football in that sense

All of college football used to be like that, but it's changed since 1980.

It's an SEC game. Hell yes. Every normal red blooded male in SEC states try to watch SEC football, even when Dave, Dave and Dave were announcing the 11:00 game on JP.

I care about the game as much as I care about any other SEC game with SEC implications. I don't care about the rivalry and I'm not sure why anyone would other than the two fanbases. It's like any other SEC game.

The Iron Bowl as 'The Iron Bowl'....not really. If both clubs are pretty good or if the outcome has a direct effect on LSU, then of course but outside of that....
I'd imagine that would be true for most fans with no dog in the fight, be it AU/UGA, UA/UT, etc.

People outside of MS actually care about the Egg Bowl, so I say yes. A rivalry SEC game I'd going to get attention from fans of other SEC schools.

or historically to make it appointment television.
So the SEC team that has the highest winning percentage against UA doesn't stand up to your historical level of greatness cut off?

LSU vs. UA = 32% win percentage
AU vs. UA = 44% win percentage

Don't worry. You guys win the next 17 in a row and you'll surpass Auburn in win percentage against 'bama.
