I watch, but until last season it didn't mean much. Probably the same for anyone in Bama watching A&M-tu

Since 2009, the national champion of college football has not left the State of Alabama. 2009 & 2010 were great games.

Am I happy Auburn sucks now? Why, yes I do; enjoying 49-0 wins is quite fun indeed.

But what makes a good rivalry? Passionate fans? We've got those, and them some. Storied football programs? Yes, one much more than another, but that is beside the point. Incredible venues? Check. A game that has national meaning? Can't argue that, especially now.

It had its own ESPN special. It has cache. If its not the best rivalry, its a close second to Army-Navy.

There are some "rivalries" that are fun for the fanbases, but outside of bragging rights, has, and will probably never have meaning. Who cared about Mizzou-Kansas? Who gives a DAMN about the Egg Bowl... the winner got an all expense paid trip to... Birmingham? In early January? Georgia-Georgia Tech used to be a great game, but the triple option stole that away from the Jackets.

LSU-Ole Miss is historical, but is no more meaningful than LSU-Tulane. Those games are archaic.

In summation, if you don't care about the Iron Bowl, I would understand. I never much cared about Ohio State-Michigan when they were #1-#2 a few years back, however, I did watch a bit of the game.

With that said, the ratings for the game every year are astronomical, and have provided for some great national theater, on and off the field.

This is stupid. 2010 was the only year when both teams were legitimate contenders.

And yet if it was, the Egg Bowl would be regulated to ESPNU.
