Cool. Thanks for checking. Yeah, you obviously hate someone when you don't even wait 24-hours after firing your coach to go out and say that another guy would never even be considered to be the coach at your school. Dude was 9-1 at the time and Foley absolutely buried him.

Piqued my interest. I remember the rumors, just chalked it up to them not getting along behind the scenes.

Back in the first year or two that Urbz and Mullen were in Gainesville, Mullen was pretty abrasive to former players, especially Spurrier's players, that would show up to watch the practices. Maybe Mullen didn't ingratiate himself to the 'Gator establishment.'

I'm not a Gator fan and thought he was being a jerk at that time with his actions.

Wouldn't surprise me. There seems to be a lot of smoke around the Dan Mullen is a secret a-hole train. People that interact with him say very similar things about his demeanor and lack of self-awareness.

most people who grew up working on an assembly line develop bad posture and unpleasant attitudes.

He makes bad decisions and then doubles down to make them worse. The zook debacle. He let Meyer return after the 1st retirement and paid him $1 million for a retention bonus for the 2011 season. The muschamp coaching search, The muschamp extension after the fluke '12 season which cost $6 million now, the decision to keep WM after '13 costing chances at strong, Franklin, etc. The ruling out of Mullen and Rich Rod before even starting a search, the hiring process of McElwain, and his new contract, and in bball he hires Mike White(last 2 are tbd but avg hires with McElwain not being worth what they paid.) Yes UF has been successful under Foley at times but the last 5 years he's done more than enough to be fired. He should of been fired when he decided to keep WM in '14.

Dan can be an arse. Even though I enjoy when the Rebs beat him, I've actually grown to like the guy.

I think it maybe be his personality. There was rumors that foley wants a coach he could control after Meyer. With all of his hires but Meyer I could see that and rumor was that the school president who came from Utah was the reason Meyer was hired. UF is a big job to hire such unproven guys. Coach Mac may be good but for what UF is paying him and paying his buyout , Foley should have went after some bigger named guys . If Foley was going to hire Mullen it should have been when Meyer left.

Mullen's mouthing off after wins is gonna come back to haunt him.

Somebody gonna give his team a black flag no mercy beat down.

Probably in College Station soon.

Mullen has an odd personality and one that didn't mix well with Florida HS coaches. You don't have a chance under Foley if you can't be a top notch recruiter, especially in state.

IMO, Foley has earned the right to go out on his own terms. He is one of the most successful AD's of all time and his good far outweighs the bad. The Muschamp mistake is certainly fresh and it was a disaster, but these recent hires appear to be great choices.

And I don't know how he could have handled the Meyer situation differently. A 2 time national champion says he wants to come back, you let him back.
