The emotion and hate is there, between the two schools. But, it's ran its course, IMO. Bring on 9 team conference schedule.

Bama isn't stopping the SEC from going to a 9 game schedule.

Saban is on record as being in favor of a 9 game schedule.

I don't believe any other school is in favor of it because it would cost them a home game every other year.

Also, a 9 game schedule has nothing to do with Alabama/Tennessee playing each year.

Why do you guys all bitch about the TSIO?

I never see any equivalent amount of bitching about the AU-UGA game

Because AU-UGA is a legitimate rivalry. Everyone recognizes it.

I've grown up my entire life watching SEC football. I always look forward to watching the UGA-Aub game. Didn't even know TSIO was a thing until 2 years ago when I started getting on the SEC rant.

You obviously don't know shite about the SEC. Typical millenial LSU fan whose frame of reference starts around 2003.

Because it is actually still a healthy rivalry with real hate/connections between the schools and fanbases.

All without trying to be.

The worst thing that happened to the rivalry was the division split. No matter what people say, the rivalry hasn't been the same since. Add in the fact that one team always seems dominant over another in the last 20 years, both teams have rarely been good at the same time outside of the Stallings years and zero conference championship game meetings and there just isn't as much at stake when the two teams play one another like there used to be.

Georgia's won 7 of the last 9 against Aub and neither have ever met in the SEC championship game either. Nobody seems to mind though

Are you a Bama or UT fan? You are qualified in this regard? It's as much as rivalry as AU-UGA. Please.....we all know the reason for the bitching: All Bama....All the time.

Everyone feels like Bama has some form of competitive advantage because we keep UT on the schedule. Never mind the fact that UT beat Bama for long streches.

I think UT/Bama is a top ten rivalry in the SEC, and in the fairly past it has been top 5. No, it isn't to the level of the Iron Bowl or Georgia-Florida these days, but it is a major rivalry. It would not surprise me if this was the biggest game in the SEC in the early and middle 1900's. Remember, Auburn didn't play Bama for about forty years, and Florida was not consistently good until Steve Spurrier, so these were the two most successful teams in the SEC for decades.

I know a lot of Bama fans and for most of my life this was a game that they circled on the calendar and looked forward to second most after the Iron Bowl. Sure, it is in a down cycle now b/c Tennessee has been bad, but all rivalries go through highs and lows. When Tenn is a major player again (and they will be sooner or later) this will be more hyped nationally.

I agree that it takes too long to cycle through all the teams in the SEC, but the answer is a nine game schedule, not getting rid of important rivalries that helped build the SEC into what it is today.

23. Don't see the rivalry changing anytime soon either. Eventually its going to be 30 year olds not knowing this was a rivalry. Its dying, and fast
