I did live in Tennessee though. I remember when it was a big deal. But it's a generational rivalry and not one that has carried over IMO. If I asked my UT friends who they's rather beat they'd likely list half the SECe before getting to Bama-yes, for all the reasons you listed.
I know yall hate UT. And some UT fans hate Alabama. But everyone hates Alabama.
Hell, some LSU fans hate ULL and ULL fans hate LSU. But it's still not a rivalry.

I've sat in the lsu section everytime I've been to BR
How can you pass that up

Sorry I don't care about other schools rivalry games.

No kidding. I would have to move some stuff around, but I think I can make it.

Because of this rivalry, I won't be watching LSU play in Athens and Columbia for a decade.
No, that's because some of our member institutions were pathetic enough to block a 9 game conference schedule.

Good to see all the little bros of the conference coming together. Perhaps y'all should do something about getting the game changed since this rivalry is a farce.
They can bitch and bitch and bitch, but there's absolutely nothing anyone on this board can do about it
Suck our collective dicks, little 12

The logical answer to all of this is a 9 game conference schedule, but too many coaches in this league would rather schedule Nicholls state or Western Carolina than play another conference game.
Or get rid permanent cross-divisional opponents.

They had a run there in the 90s where the rivalry was a thing. But it hasn't been competitive for a long time
That's the thing. A rivalry is only heated and relevant if both teams are good. Tennessee being down for so long has made it uninteresting

No. Arkansas-Missouri is forced

Nope. That's not a logical answer to the problem. It. will. never. happen.

I like our cross division with State. It's pretty competitive.
And better than the league fricking us with rotating Alabama and LSU in and out every other year in a "bridge" schedule.

Bama Fans didn't bitch when we got 11 out of 12 on them from 1995-2006, we're not bitching now. everyone else is though. But let me be the first to tell you, we don't give a shite what you think

Just because it is uninteresting right now doesn't make it any less of a rivalry.
I am extremely satisfied with UT being down for so long. Their football program deserves it. I want them to lose to every team in the SEC every season and I want us to demolish them every TSIO.

but the emotion and hate isn't there
I think there's plenty of hate between Bama and Tennessee. Just mention Roy Adams to Bama fans.
But the Iron Bowl is without a doubt the top rivalry in the South these days. It has given all of us epic entertainment over the years.

Something Bama and UT fans can actually agree about.

The TSIO has been played since 1901. Bama and UT have met 96 times. It is one of the foundations of the SEC. It is a series and the foundation of this conference that has made the SEC what it is today.

UT would have to win occasionally for it to be hatred any more. Bama just shows up, whips that arse, and moves on. As an Aubie, I'd like to see the Vols win periodically. This used to be a GREAT Game.
Back in the day, Auburn used to play Florida the same weekend as TSIO. Was an intense day in the state of Alabama with major SEC implications.
