Texas A&M has the 2nd Largest Endowment of any Public University. In fact, it grew $1.1 Billion last year ALONE to $8.7 Billion and change.

Except endowment money is unavailable for use by athletic departments. We're talking athletic budgets, not research grants.

If you want to talk about research grants, go post in the OTB and watch the tumbleweeds blow past you on "No One Cares Blvd"

endowment =/= research grants.

Also, that figure for A&M is "system wide" which consists of 130,000+ students.

Interesting how the extent of their xenophobia tends to be inversely-related to their literacy.

Even if you distribute that evenly across all 11 schools, which it is not, that's 8.7 Billion divided by 11.

There is so much bs in this post it's impressive. You don't have more money than any SEC program. I'd say at least Bama and Florida have more cash.

And I'm 31, didn't finish school, or even get my AA, and will make between 70-80k this year working in the construction industry, with as relatively low stress a job as possible. Are the civil engineering p.e.'s from A&M making that much?

I'll be starting off in the 70-80K range at the lowest and only if they guarantee to pay for my grad school work. After 3 years over 6 figs is normal. PEs start over 100K usually, (95-125) unless you are a functioning idiot. If you do any kind of international work, tack on a 30-40% increase immediately. Plus signing bonuses and performance stuff.

A&M has more resources in that while we don't make as much in the athletic dept revenue, our donors and alumni dwarf just about anyone in the SEC. A $450 mil stadium and then a complete overhaul of facilities doesn't come from selling shine or cockfights or however you hillbillies make money.

Is all that money something that happened in just the past two years? If not, then why wasn't A&M at least the second best team in the Big 12?

A&M fans making comments like this draw a comparison to porn stars who are unable to get it up. Yes, they may have the biggest d*** in the room, but apparently they've never been able to satisfy a woman.

Hi, you must be new to the world. It's called shale. Look it up. The SEC move has spurred a new identity and generation of people willing to invest in it.

The SEC move was always a building process and we are a far cry from where the shite slinging monkeys that bang on keyboards here predicted. You don't walk into the best division in the best conference in football and take it over. But if anyone has the potential and is taking the steps to ensure sustained success, it is Texas A&M. If you want to have an arms race, you flat out can't win. These things are just now coming online. Facilities were just finished, stadium is half done. If you don't worry about A&M, it's your own damn funeral.

facilities. Check.
Stadium. Check.

Congrats, you've finally got what the rest of us have had for some time. Explain to me again how this means you will be a powerhouse to be reckoned with?

Again, explain to me what the hell else you can use all of your "shale money" for besides stadium and facilities?

I also love how you pointed out shale as being a reason why yall have so much money. Louisiana and Mississippi must have no involvement with oil and gas production along the gulf coast

Um... I doubt it would be possible for me to care any less about Texas A&M's future, unless your grads start migrating north to Virginia and want to come work for me. If that's the case, great, all the other A&M grads that work here have been top notch.

Seriously though, what is the point about bragging about the endowment? Do you expect other universities to do something about it? Perhaps they'll all hire ninjas and cowboys to rob the trains and banks where all that money is stored.

Colleges don't worry about what A&M is doing, as I can assure you an AD's job worrying about his own athletic department is already a full time job, and then some.

Yeah huge mistake. Recruiting and the bank account are just doing way too well. Shouldve never came over here, counting all that money is getting very old. And I think theyre tiring of the 4-5 star high school players wanting to set up visits.

You work for us. Whatever oil money you have is what we give you. We are bigger, stronger, richer, you name it. Christ, you corndogs get a whole foods and think you are as good as us. We can afford anything that would make our program more competitive and we are putting that money up now. LSU fans are great. You talk about us never having been anything, LSU pre-Saban anyone? Hell, you couldn't even keep him and now he mudholes you everytime you play. Our time is coming. A&M has achieved above all expectations, even in the midst of disappointment. It will only grow from here.

Because it shows we don't run a junior college like LSU and the like. We have real jobs and a capacity to fund the program as needed. Also, we don't have to leave the state for good work unless we feel like it. Unlike...hmmm. Even Finebaum concedes A&M is the biggest threat to Bama.

Wait, are you talking to me or is that the quote you get from you're longhorn boss everyday? I'm from Houston and I'm an engineer at an E&P. You can stop your chest puffing, because its honestly not impressing anyone.

Yeah I don't look downwards when I'm trying to impress a person. And yeah, you had to move here for work didn't you? Longhorn boss? Nah. Not even close. I don't really care if you listen or not because the train is coming no matter what corndog. In fact, keep trying to look down on us. Enjoy it while you can. Because when it starts to go, it'll go really fast. Glad y'all beat Ole Miss though, hopefully you keep Miles.

Really Leg? What is your legacy?

But back to the Aggie team. You are quoting... Paul Finebaum? Have u seen him or listened to anything he has predicted? Hang your hat on that little rail.

You guys are declining as a program right in front of your eyes and u cant see it. 59-0......
does that make u want to run your mouth in here this week? Your coach can not establish a defensive identity. Its yr 3? U know 3 long years...
Top recruits and inherited a solid program and get beat 59-0. This isnt high school, u guys should want your money back.
Maybe thats your legacy....
run your mouth while getting the poop shoved up your throat.

59 to ZIP. Oil Money.. u say.
