Aggies in real life are generally decent folk who admit to not accomplishing much since they joined the SEC, but they all agree it's better than that shitshow they were in.

Aggie posters on this board now remind me of Arkansas posters in 2011 pre petrino motorcycle crash. They were the world champs of talking championship shite without the championships.

The environment in the SEC is miles better than in the B12. TAMU was in a toxic relationship with Texas and has never been able to really control their own destiny - they can do that now and there's a lot to be said just for finally having the ability to stand or fall on your own instead of having little control over your own fate.

Sure the conference is harder but the rewards are also bigger and better.

This was the best post on this ever.

Epic

And the gut wrenching reality is the only time that word will be used in the same sentence as Texas A&M it will followed by failure.

Soryy... Maybe I copied one from a previous year... still no A&M listed.

It was a previous year, because I remember it. My guess is 2010 or 2011, and IIRC, A&M was something like 18th on that list.

That's a ridiculous question. The exposure and prestige of the SEC is worth leaving the big 12 for. Arkansas is pretty much in their situation fast forwarded 10 years. They are much better off. Its not always about wins and losses. Besides Texas has run that conference into the ground and made it inequitable for other teams. They will always call the shots in that conference and aTm deserves better. Just like arkansas and Nebraska did. Who might not be a fit is missouri, they probably should have gone to the Big 10 passion wise. TAMU is just cultlike enough to fit in with the Madness that is the SEC. I do think they will have to change their style of play to be competitive in the long run. They can have good years when they get excellent qb play, but they need to be more stout on the defensive line and learn to rush the ball better to be consistent in this league year in and year out. Have to be able to win games when the QB struggles against the best defenses in the country. Have to be able to stop the run in the SEC or it makes for a long year.

Exactly. Same can be said for South Carolina, which was basically a non entity in the ACC or as an independent but now far outpaces Clemson in terms of revenue and exposure.

A&M is happy to be in the SEC, as it should. Now, if they move the game against LSU to Black Friday, I might go visit...until then, I'll watch on tv.

Yall went from a conference where yall were in contention for 2nd place most years to a conference

Didnt read the thread but this is blatantly false. We were in contention for 2nd worst team more often than not.

Would your fans be happy taking road trips to Ames, Lawrence, Manhattan, Lubbock, Stillwater, Waco, Morgantown every other year? Mostly old small stadiums, weak fan bases, no excitement. Big 12 is a crap conference. No regrets

A&M never regrets anything. ever. Deep down, deep inside their subconscious, they are furious they didn't stay in the big12 for two extra years because they are certain they would have won the big12 with JFF. But lets be honest, 7-5 in the SEC gives you a lot more cred than 6-6 in the big12

Woo fiesty today, someone spiked the coffee.

Our secondary was pretty iffy that year. Maybe we win it maybe we don't but I don't think it's a given. The weaker passing offenses in the SEC played to the strength of our defense.

Texas A&M has the 2nd Largest Endowment of any Public University. In fact, it grew $1.1 Billion last year ALONE to $8.7 Billion and change.

I keep seeing the aggies quoting how large their endowment is. Can someone please explain to me how this translates to success on the field? Tulane has an endowment that dwarfs LSU's, yet we don't see them dominating in state recruiting.

Very little of your endowment can be used for athletic purposes, and on top of that, you've already added additions to your stadium and facilities. What else can the money be used for? A new coach? Some new coordinators? Nothing has stopped yall from using the money in the past, so what has changed that will allow yall to suddenly be using it so wildly effectively now that yall are in the SEC?

Yep. Just look at what La Tech did to us 2 years ago. Baylor might have hung 80 on us. Course we might have scored 82 on them. Who knows?
