Bielema shies away from over ruling his coordinators, he is very much a CEO style coach from what I've seen so far.
Bert is coming back next year even with a complete disaster of a season this year. But if things truly do bottom out this season he's going to find himself on a very short leash next year.
He may find himself being one of those coaches that takes years to rebuild a team, finally gets it where he wants, gets fired, and then has to watch another coach come in and win a ton of games.
Mind you, I'm hoping the worst case scenario doesn't happen. A couple of SEC wins would help ease the sting of a bitter season and assist the rebuilding process a lot.

Wow. Curious - what does he have to pay if he were to leave?
I think it's like 3 million but I'm not sure. I imagine some other fanbase can chime in and give you the correct numbers.

Heard somewhere that Arky would owe Bert $15mil if they fired him after this season. Don't know if they can swing that.
If you are under the impression that Arkansas doesn't have money you are wrong but 15 mil is still a lot of money. I think he gets one more year to try and turn it around but I don't think he will. He was overrated and got too much credit for winning the big ten when both michigan and ohio state were down.

I think Bert has this really insane buyout figure in his contract. Something like $15 million? I don't know the exact figure.
That's alot of money to spend to fire any coach, but Jerry Jones could probably write a check to cover that.
Their AD seemed to go out of his way to lure Bert away from Wisconsin. I think Bert is safe this year and next year. He can still blame it on Petrino/John L. Smith fiascoes for a while longer. But that will only work for so long.

Ok so a few things about that article. Why was Bert talking so much this offseason if y'all weren't gonna be good? Is that just who he is? Everyone loses players. Yea, y'all lost a lot on defense but the D hasn't been that bad in the time I've watched y'all this year. It's been the offense. I know losing your best running back is tough for any team but all we heard all offseason is how Arkansas had the best stable of backs in the league. Do y'all really expect to be that much better with the classes y'all are bringing in? Were y'all even top 10 in the SEC in recruiting his first two years? How's this years going?
I really liked the hire when it was made and I thought y'all were gonna be good to great this year. I'm just baffled to see such a start to y'all's season.

$4 million if he leaves.
Think about how bad the contract is, when this season is over, he will have been paid $11 million over the last three seasons and is guaranteed another $15.5 million.
If Arkansas has another down season next year, (they add TCU & Florida to the schedule) and Arkansas gives him the boot. He will have made over $30 million in 4 years.

He's the fatter version of Butch Jones without the recruiting skills. His 2nd recruiting class looks just like His 1st with 16 being a little better.

He will not be fired
In February Bret got a raise and extension through 2020 (Arkie must have a worse AD than Auburn).
As illustrated by ArkansasFight.com, the contract's buyout terms are extremely friendly to Bielema, who would be owed $15.4 million if he's fired any time before 2018 and a minimum of $7.9 million if if he's fired any time before 2020. But Bielema would only owe Arkansas $4 million if he leaves in 2015 and would owe progressively less over the course of the contract down to only $500,000 on Jan. 1, 2019.

Does anyone know how much his buyout is? I think it's near 15 million

Under BB:
Class rankings:
'14: national 29 SEC 11
'15: national 23 SEC 11
'16: national 26 SEC 10
Bobby P Arkansas finished 9-10 in the SEC in recruiting. That tells me BB can't recruit or develop talent.

Did Long call Foley for his blueprint on terrible contracts? Holy shite

At this point, I think Bert needs to turn things around quickly in order to NOT be fired. It is season three and the Arkansas people want to win. He's out of time.

Judging by his contract terms he has 4 more years.LOL at Arky

Remember when Arky fans laughed at everyone for saying this would hurt? Good times.
Lack of depth is brutal, and especially in our league where every team has the ability to pull off a win. Development is crucial too, as Auburn is finding out. We have had several good recruiting classes, but it means shite if you can't develop it (I'm looking at you Auburn coaches).

Did you see the Texas Tech game?

We might have had the best tandem, but we really weren't that deep. We lost a RB to an ACL injury in the spring after last year's #3 Korliss Marshall was kicked off the team midway through the year last year. We're basically down to Collins and true freshman Rawleigh Williams (who has looked good). The offense wasn't a problem against Texas Tech. Brandon Allen is actually putting up solid stats. We just get penalties in the redzone and our OL hasn't been as good in short yardage so we can't ever actually put the ball in the endzone when we get down there.

This past year's class is the first one where he's been able to redshirt a lot of them, including the #1 rated TE class and two 4* QBs. When you think about it he's only playing about 1 and a half of his classes this year since he took over late in recruiting in 2013 and his class this past year are only 3 games in. Since we don't get the raw talent of an Alabama or LSU our players don't reach their full potential until their junior or senior years

If he goes 2-10 and doesnt get fired, what's his recruiting class look like?
