It is VERY possible that they don't win another game other than UT Martin. I see them going 4-8 but does a 2-10 season get him the 15 mil and a kick in the arse out the door? We know y'all are loaded with that Walmart money you always talk about Arkansas. 2-10 is unacceptable for any SEC team. Will they keep him one more year or can his arse?

For y'all who don't wanna look at their schedule it's...

A&M - Loss
@UT - Toss Up
@Bama- Loss
Bye
Auburn - Toss Up
UT Martin- Win
@Ole Miss - Loss
@LSU - Loss
Miss St - Loss
Mizzou - Toss Up

Yes, and Gus will leave with 2 of the wheels on the bus still in tact

I think UT is winnable, but on the road is tough. They beat Mizzou or MSU at home, maybe Auburn.

But yeah, 2-10 with his other antics would tough to handle. I think he gets one more year tho

First, Arkansas is not as bad as people are saying. I don't think they will finish 2-10.

But even if they do, Bert ain't gonna get fired.

I agree. I was on the Bert bandwagon to start the season. I had Arkansas finishing 2nd in the west and only losing 2 games. But the way they have played has been laughable.

It's an sec board. Can you answer my question. I'm not trying to troll at all. This should be a serious concern for Arkansas. I would most certainly want gus gone if he went 2-10

I don't think Bert gets a fourth if he finishes last in the West and doesn't win a conference game.

Heard somewhere that Arky would owe Bert $15mil if they fired him after this season. Don't know if they can swing that.

All I've got to say is... God bless the SEC team that loses to Arkansas, tFlagship is gonna steamroll right over them on this forum.

I do not think that even the end of the world scenario of 2-10 gets him canned right now. There is an awful lot of money on the table and our AD, Jeff Long, is notorious for loving the green. It would take a revolt by the big money boosters to oust Bielema.

That having been said, if we do go 2-10 this season then next year the seats for Bielema and Long are red hot. The Hogs will have to win, and win impressively, or both of them are in danger of getting hung out to dry.

Either way, unless we find a way to turn things around, this is shaping up to be an ugly season.

thanks for the response. I just can't see how 2-10 doesn't get you fired no matter how much $ is owed. He was expected to be in much better shape with this years team and now it would be an absolute miracle to make a bowl game.

Odds are we'll be a significantly better team the last 4 games or so of the year, like last year. They will improve a lot and probably go 5-7.

this is a great article about him and situation

2011 Recruiting Class

33 Commitments
7 players still on team

2012 Recruiting Class

24 Commitments
7 Players still on team

In fact, for the 2012 class, if you look at the top 10 commits (based off of star rankings) only 4 of them ever even significantly contributed to the Razorbacks.

quote:

And that, friends, is the thing that makes 2015 and 2012 so similar, and kind of the only thing. You thought you could run a Bobby Petrino offense in 2012 without Bobby Petrino? False. That cannot be done. The lack of Bobby on the sidelines and in practice killed that team. You thought that a team that only has 14 players on it from 2 combined recruiting classes, both recruited by a coach in Petrino that is notorious for not recruiting defenses, would be able to replace 4 NFL quality defenders? False.

The program just isn’t as far along as fans thought it was. The defense is going to be an issue for a while. Not to keep harping on Petrino’s lack of recruiting for that side of the ball, but there is not a single Petrino recruited linebacker on the team any more. At all. In 2011 and 2012, there were a combined 7 linebackers signed by the Hogs. None of them made in through 2012. That type of lack of depth is showing on the field right now, as true freshman Dre Greenlaw is now starting at weakside linebacker.

I'd say some heavy hitters might be more than a little upset with Jeff Long for hiring Bert if this season is the disaster it looks like it could be. Wonder if a cleaning house movement might take place. When Bert was hired I wondered why anyone would think a throwback to Woody Hayes and 'three yards and a cloud of dust' would work in today's SEC.

injuries, lack of depth, and the guys on defense we lost to the draft hurt
