Do you feel like it is acceptable to have different rivals in different sports?

And they can change as times change? For example Arkansas and Kentucky had a great basketball rivalry in the 90s simply because of the excellence of the 2 teams and it is still there to some degree. But there's 0 hostilities between the 2 schools outside of basketball. I mean lsu and Alabama could care less who wins the games outside of football. So can rivalrys exist in individual sports or are the only true rivalrys the ones that transcend across all sports?

Yes.
Hate in football: Florida and Alabama
Hate in basketball: Kentucky and Vanderbilt.
Kentucky hates us with the passion of a 1000 suns in football, but they never even enter my mind until basketball season starts.

Nope. Hope Auburn and Tennessee lose every game in every sport every year. They are our only rivals and the dislike applies to all sports.

The charter schools were basketball rivals to Kentucky long before Arkansas arrived on the scene.

If you asked the majority of Kentucky basketball fans who they dislike the most from the conference I would imagine the majority of them would say those teams reside in Nashville and Knoxville. Probably Gainesville as well

Basketball season is over yet they appear to still be at the forefront of your thoughts.

This only happens when you don't have a real rival.

MU/NEB was only really a football rivalry. Husker basketball is so pathetic, they have never made it past the first round! Not a rival.
Arkansas, Tennessee, and sCAR is for both sports, but more low key
Mizzou and Kansas hate each other in all sports, from football to rowing

Rivalries just make games more fun, and message boards more funny.
So it's OK, until Alabama has to play 7 team with off weeks scheduled before they play us.

Very wrong. LSU loves baseball and basketball if they're competitive, and usually are in Baseball. Just visit the Tiger Rant.
Alabama was pumped up big time for a couple of years in baseball....winning, Alabama has had some very good teams in basketball.
The SEC had some very good basketball teams along with colorful coaches that made the SEC a very good Basketball league for a while.
As the saying goes, everybody loves a winner.

The feeling is mutual.
I hope that The North marches to Tuscaloosa and burns your University to the ground AGAIN
And I hope that a giant sinkhole opens up in Athens and swallows the entire UGA Athletic Department and all of their facilities

No. In a true rivalry such as that between UK and Louisville, you want to beat the snot out of each other in everything, every time you play. There can be transient rivalries such as that between UK and Arky but they come and go.

Tennessee is 31-1 against Kentucky over the last 32 years in football. Dooley lost to them in 2011 and we lost to them in 1984.
