I'd be cool with Alabama losing every game of every sport, so there's that

Anything outside of football isn't important enough to have a rival.

We were about to start a heated rivalry with Vandy. But our entire Scrabble squad was suspended.

Damned steroids, anyway.

I can respect that. I would much rather have a discussion with an auburn (or Bama fan for that matter) who has a healthy hatred for the rival than one of those who "pulls" for the other team except when playing each other.

Yes. Alabama-Mississippi State was huge back when Gottfried and Stanbury were coaching. Auburn still remains Alabama's biggest rival in basketball, despite Tennessee and Alabama being mirror images of each other in terms of success. But in other sports, yes. Alabama's biggest rival in softball is Florida- even though Florida kicks our arse more times than not. Gymnastics, it's Georgia.

Yes. I would say under Wells, Alabama-LSU was always a fun game in baseball. Since then, Alabama has fallen off the map, and LSU has sustained its success.

I think with South Carolina, the Clemson rivalry carries across the 3 main sports. The rivalry with UGA, people only care about football. We have played UNC in football and baseball over the last few years and I think that has sparked up the old rivalry in a small aspect.
