No, its why we are in a conference.

Yes, ND can pull of being an independent but its not because people love their uniforms or they are good at football right now. Why cant Alabama, Mich, Ohio State do the same? Because ND represents the institution that represents the largest denomination of Christians in the world. ND is not a national brand its a global brand because of its affiliation with the Catholic church.

You see who was the number one most watched game.

If you renegotiated the TV contracts, why not?

No way, time at the top is cyclical.

Somebody who follows his/her own conference isn't going to watch the SEC just because you moved the top teams from their respective conference. You are going to lose some viewership on that alone.

Plus you would have half of the 14 teams fall behind and lose viewership in the process. Are you going to be kicking people out every few years?

That would be sweet. Even more competition. Like the premier league. Attract viewers or get demoted.

Well you would never get the 14 top teams per viewership in one year so that is one issue.

The premier league has its clear problems. You might like it for awhile at first.

Isn't this why the Big 12 was/is so unstable, because UT gets the biggest chunk of everything and has the biggest stroke in the conference?

Do this for every game over the course of a longer period of time, and you'll find Ole Miss near the bottom of the league. So you may want to re-think this idea.

The only reason Ole Miss has a game rated this high is because you played Bama and LSU, Tennessee, and Auburn have not played them yet.

And Ole Miss would go back to their regular ratings pre bagman and recruits and cry about their share lol

I have to admit I enjoy watching UT. It doesn't matter who they are playing, I know it will be a close game.
It is good to see Ole Miss pulling their weight, lately. As I recall it wasn't long ago when MSU was undefeated at this point in the season. Their tv ratings were good. We all have good years and our tv ratings will reflect that. Our schools are in this together. There is already too much off field resentment in this UF and LSU cancelled/postponed game. I see no reason to cause resentment from the schools who are having down years. We need less bullshite in this conference not more.

Well, if we are going to do this for football, we have to do it for basketball & baseball, both revenue producing sports too. Under this model, UK would get all the basketball monies & in baseball, mabe....4-5 teams, the others, nadda. Or the League could make it a rule that no team is entitled to any League monies in football till it at least wins its division. Another fitting rule would be if a team is hit with massive violations it would get zero dollars while on probation. Or if a team insists on waving Rebel Flags at games, it would once again get no tv monies, being anti PC & thus a bad image for the rest of the League.

After all those years as the Jefferson Pilot game of the week, OM fans should just be thankful they have been allowed to stay in the conference for the past 50 years despite not winning much of anything.

and you'd base that on tv viewership? some teams in this conference would always fall short, regardless of how good they are, and vice versa. for instance, notre dame and alabama will always have high tv ratings regardless of how good their teams may be. mississippi state and kentucky will always have poor rating regardless of how good they may be. this idea is a complete non-starter

Despite it being a terrible idea for the reasons you mentioned this was how the money was distributed in the Big 12 until 2010.
